Balloon coupling with combined balloon

by langlade350 » 07/05/08, 17:25

Hello everybody

in full reflection on my future solar installation I have a small question to submit to you.

How to couple two classic electric resistance tanks on a solar tank with a plate heat exchanger for domestic hot water (called combined)?

Maybe the extra tanks will only be used for heating?

Thank you in advance

Hi Langlade

From what I understand, you want to circulate the hot water from the solar tank in your exchanger on one side, and circulate the sanitary water on the other?
Why in this case have you chosen a Combi balloon since it has a DHW reserve in a water bath?
Can you detail your balloon for us?
Do you want to use the accumulator resistors to heat the DHW or the water in the heating circuit?

A+

Hello,

in fact I discovered these combined balloons recently. and it appealed to me.
For the sake of storage volume and the reuse of two electric balloons, I am looking for the best way to couple them.

I haven't made the purchase yet. I'm in the design phase.

The top-up should be fuel oil (existing boiler).

With a view to buying a handset,
My impression is that to avoid having to heat the water of the additional balloons with electricity, I will have to use them only as storage for heating. And so use the bain marie of the solar balloon for DHW without going through these balloons.

This will give a combined "triple exchanger", one for the sensors, one for the boiler, one for the DHW.
Then, the heating output on the inlet of the first elec tank (without using the elec), the outlet of the first elec tank on the inlet of the second.
And why not graft some thermostatic valves if you confirm their usefulness in this assembly.

Now what do you think of these combined balloons?

Is it worth the effort?

Hoping to have been crystal clear, thank you in advance.

Like this: https://www.econologie.com/photos-et-pla ... -3783.html or like that: https://www.econologie.com/forums/l-installa ... t5200.html : Mrgreen:

More seriously I do not understand your future installation ... a schematic diagram would be welcome.
If you don't have software, you can use DAY

Your idea seems very complicated to me, for example where is the heating, where is the DHW? Do you want to use the balloons as a solar buffer?

What works for a long time in a house is generally what is simple ...
