Google Map and / or Google Earth

by Christophe » 21/06/06, 19:24

Google has more or less recently "released" 2 very good tools (completely free for those who are worried) to observe our planet seen from the sky in a very detailed way.

After some research I found:

1) The 3 gorges dam (more than 2 km long or rather wide)

link

2) Chernobyl:

link

We could even have fun doing a little directory to see a quiz, right?

It is true that google earth is a great thing.
There is a site that groups places of interest or
Unusual reports by Google Earth users.
To use the proposed files you must have installed google earth.
For the site it's not there:
http://www.sauceketchup.fr/index.php

In the same genre but at the level of the stars
there is Stellarium 0.8.0
free, as beautiful as google earth and available from:

Funny this site I didn't know :)

There is a way to find some nice but good stuff, the Celebrity section is a bit pointless ... well, you need something for everyone! :)

By the way for those who have not yet google earth you can download it here: http://earth.google.com/

For Google Map there is nothing to download and it's here: http://maps.google.fr/

Trash can of the world

by timtim » 09/05/07, 21:44

I participate in the little game of Google Earth images.

I present to you a picture of the place of the future trash of the world:
OFFICE

Our dear politicians want to bury future nuclear waste in this campaign, in other words a sacred bounced check for future generations.

Help, this place is located in a department that boasts of being building about 200 wind turbines (2nd French park).

Hello,
I read on various sites that the city of Hamburg is available in 3D.
(Having tested, beware it is very resource intensive and time consuming)
