A microwave oven that recycles plastic

by elephant » 29/06/07, 16:38

I take the title of the news at the top of the page, which is an interesting piece of information:
Global Resource Corporation is reported to have developed a microwave device that cracks old plastics into hydrocarbons.
No premature enthusiasm until further analysis: it is likely that this thing is like the invention of the Indian lady a few months ago and that it takes a lot of energy to recover a little (1 reads eq oil to get 1 fuel bed)
Nevertheless, I invite you to explore the GRC site, there may be things to learn (Maloche, you're there? :D )

Pkoi look so far elephant?

A Belgian Tournai (I think) does the same: converting plastic HC but I do not know his method ... RTL TVI spoke about it more than a year ago ...

Like a bcp inventor he must feel good alone ... :|

if you could find a trace of this Tournaisien ...

I relayed this news for 2 reasons:

1) I knew that the title would quickly disappear from the list, it is indeed already the case.
2) I imagine that there must be several methods (including that of the Indian lady), but what I found challenging and interesting for some of our regulars is the use of microwave waves. This seems to me really innovative and could give ideas for other applications.

1) For the trace that may be hard ... I know I sent him an email to possibly talk about his research on econo but he never answered me ...

I can retry.

2) Yes for the method, I buy 200% I did not know either. In fact the news at the top it was a bit for that I inserted them :) Do you (please?) Like the news then?
