Ban on new thermal cars in 2035: Germany changes its mind!

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

pure fantasy. It reminds me of the comics of my childhood which raved about this hypothetical future without taking into account the fantastic energy to be spent to recover a little bit of it.
And more recently the yoko tsuno comics, well done elsewhere, but which underline that indeed we we have neither the means nor the available energy to realize these fantasies.

oh yes, this stuff of PV panels in space is an old fad.

The article is funny by the way...
In doing so, the small machine's solar panel is capable of storing phenomenal energy to then redirect it in the form of a “ray in the form of microwaves converted into clean energy” towards a given location.

Oh yes ? Further on we read...
“The latest experiments show that the 30,5 x 30,5 centimeter panel is capable of producing approximately 10 watts energy to transmit. That's about enough to power a tablet."

ah the idiots... already it's a POWER, not an energy, and moreover it's almost nothing and not terrible.

On Earth, the same PV surface illuminated by 1000 W at 20% efficiency would have produced 18 W, do the math...

But what a bunch of tench... The losses in efficiency are enormous in converting energy into radio waves, transmitting them to earth and converting them back into electricity. And above all, there must be no clouds or water vapor on the path of the beam...

On the other hand, it will really pollute space, all these satellites will fall into disuse and produce extremely dangerous debris.

When it comes to space, the technophile delirium frees itself from all gravity and accumulates nonsense on an astronomical scale... : Wink:

anything to do with space (to conquer and exploit) is an old teenage fad.
These humans are crazy!

No, not all humans are mad, although many have become so. There is a powerful economic determinism that drives infinite expansion (this is the title of a journal devoted to economics): after the Earth, there remains (sic) only space...
