broken down somfy roller shutter

by phil59 » 21/03/23, 21:46

I (the craftsman) is renovating the last room in my house, which has not yet had a facelift...

There remains a window to change, which I already had for almost 20 years, which I thought was complete, and no, the roller shutter above was not present.

But I have one on an addiction, which has been stuck for quite a while.

So recovery to put on the window.

Several pb, therefore the engine which does not turn any more.

I tried the method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej-aFz1O6yE and it doesn't work...
So complete dismantling of the shutter.

I didn't take any pictures during disassembly, which poses no particular problem, but I took a few during reassembly. (I will post later).

Generally, we can expect this to be the HS condo, but this is not the case.

So, I don't know why, but after complete reassembly, it works again.

But pb, blade smaller than the width of the descent slides.

Alright, I'll get them as close as possible, and you should be fine.

Only a few centimeters to gain.

And also the wrong length, about 20 cm missing, to go from an apron of 2m to 2.20m.

Well, I'm going to get some slats from the old "old" rolling shutters, not motorized, but mine are aluminum with foam between them, and there pure plastoc. The top fittings don't match, but the bottom does, so I'm going to put the first blades in the old one, and the new ones after.

Not very complicated to do all that, but with the pb back, it's not cool to do.

For the record, already too long, when I bought the house, a very small 20 years old, I had 27 windows to buy, almost 30 Euros, and I had paid a small deposit of 000e, and with the poor workmanship from the start, I didn't pour more, and more than half of the windows not installed, everything asked for in tilting, and not the third, etc .... So after the system shitty ....

I like your method to repair, to recover, to preserve and to reuse, even modifying. I am like that, for everything. The main drawback is that it takes up space. Like at your place :D .
At home it's full to the core, and I can't move : Cry:

I assume that the Somfy motors are on 230VAC and not low voltage on panels.

Do you have an idea, to open a curtain in case of power failure?

I had taken a 230VAC inverter from 12VDD, but as the current was square and not sinusoidal, it should not work with the Somfy which is very sensitive to the quality of the current?

To open the shutters, in the event of a breakdown, I have a 2000VA inverter, from a PC, which I am in the process of putting back into operation, it is 48V, small batteries hs, but I have one of my "sons-in-law ", who brought me some gear batteries, like 12V, 150A, see more, not designed for that, but free for me, and they should last at least 2 years, for occasional use in the event of a power cut , to level at a maximum of the house.

And I will have 4 left to power MOs, to simulate solar panels at night, to cover the background noise of the house.

These batteries have 2 years of life on the machine, and changed as a preventive measure.

For a long time, I have had a small PC inverter, 160VA, powered by an old diesel battery, to compensate for the cut in the juice for the circulator of the boiler stove, and the gas boiler.

PC inverters with HS batteries, you can find them in spades, on LBC, at 10-50€ (depending on the VA, mine at 2000VA, I had at 30€, but at 48V). When it's 12V, an old car battery, which no longer starts a car, can do the trick.

Lead battery for lead gel battery, we don't change the type of charge and management too much, no need to worry.

Ok.

Yes, but the output of these PC inverters is in "pseudo sinusoidal" alternating current, so in staircase...
and I read that the Somfy motor would not accept ???

Did you try ?

Haven't tried it yet, but tomorrow, if I'm done adjusting the shutter, it's not impossible that I can do it.

At 95%, I think it should work.

On the other hand, for example on this component, the somfy motor indicates 120W of consumption, so you will have to be careful not to run several of them at the same time.

I forgot to specify that at home, on an inverter, finally, on the small one (160VA), at least it works on corrugated.

Not yet tried on the 2000VA.

Finally, I ended up changing the condo, for another one, with the pods that were fine. A vacuum worked well, but had to be helped with the entire apron.
