Did you open the box out of curiosity?
There would mainly be a 6 µF capacitor, it must modify the power factor on small inductive powers like a transformer. Amazing for the led.

Haven't opened the box yet.
It's supposed to improve the fp, but it does the opposite, it brings it back to 0.00... for the Chinese meter.

For the pm231 it also lowers it, because of the 140mA it consumes with an fp of 0.01, the measured values remain logical.
With 0.5W of additional consumption!

I will still do other measurements. In my opinion it's just a Chinese device designed to hack Chinese meters...

It's very interesting !

I like the 28 W of usefull load! : Mrgreen: The mosquitoes would have roasted on the spot, the socket with : Mrgreen: !!

Funny that the sinotimer is fooled and not the PM ... and its effect must be "close" to where it is connected ...

If you put it on a socket further away from the measurement, like 10m (so more on the cables), what does it do on the Sinotimer?

He has to be after the counter, of course, but the distance doesn't matter. I tried with a 40m reel.

I think on the other hand that the distance between the manufacturer of this thingy and the manufacturer of the sinotimer must be very small...

It's weird the reaction of this power meter. What does it give to the oscillo?
Can you show us the inside of the box?

I have an 18 VA transformer which shows 4.4 W/fp = 0,42 on the energy meter. A 40 µF capacitor plugged into another outlet doesn't change that at all.

It is not made to last long, not even X2

Hello,
I don't have a swing...
The box is glued, no screws, I will still do a few tests before sawing it.

I bought this one a few months ago, less than 80 €, it works very well (but at this price, it's a single track):

https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0B67ZN5R2/

I think that given your experiences, it will be useful to you ... (there are other models, from memory to have 2 entries, it's at least 150 €) ...

I read :
"100 MHz Bandwidth Digital Oscilloscope"
then further:
"The real-time sampling rate of the digital oscilloscope is 2,5 MS/s and the bandwidth is 200 kHz."

Find the error... :?

At this price it is to see the voltages at mains and audio frequencies, but hardly beyond.
