“The reason I acquired Twitter is that having a digital commonplace is important to the future of civilization. Musk apparently believes no one will remember that until three weeks ago he was desperately trying not to buy Twitter. The only reason he did it was because he was about to lose Twitter's lawsuit to force him to buy it...
Twitter is also, in financial terms, a lousy company. It has only been profitable for two years of existence, 2018 and 2019. In 2020, it lost over $1 billion, bouncing back to lose just $222 million in 2021.
To make matters worse, Musk's deal to buy Twitter involved taking out $12,5 billion in loans. That means Twitter will have to find an additional $1 billion a year to pay off that debt.
That's why Musk hit the ground running with a creeping bid to propitiate advertisers. He absolutely has to keep them happy.
So, if Twitter simply continues on its current path, it will lose huge amounts of money indefinitely. But if advertisers get nervous about Musk's management and flee the platform, it could suffer billions of dollars in losses every year.

Anti-vaccine groups would use emojis to hide their posts on Facebook, and thus escape the platform's automatic moderation tools
On October 21, 2022 at 19:07 p.m., by Bill Fassinou10 comments
The anti-vaxxers, whose activity is limited on several social media platforms, seem to have found a way to continue spreading their ideas. They started using elaborate quotes and phrases to spread hidden information about Covid-19 vaccines. They would use emojis - such as slices of pizza, cakes and carrots - to code their messages and deceive
Facebook's automated moderation tools. Company claims to have deleted tens of millions of anti-vaccine posts, but struggles to say whether their new find violates its terms of service
of its platform.
Possible misinformation related to antivaccines was a major issue for governments around the world during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. On social media platforms like Facebook
and Twitter, anti-vaccine groups are used to share unverified claims of people injured or killed by Covid-19 vaccines. But as things begin to regain their
normal course, social media platforms are still struggling to contain the spread of anti-vaxxer content. Lately they have started to encode their messages, so that they are
more difficult to moderate.
Several sources have reported that Facebook moderators have failed to remove posts shared in groups and on anti-vaccine pages that would normally be considered
illegal content, except for the coded language. Sometimes users claim that loved ones took four or five "slices" of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, using pizza emojis,
cupcakes and various fruits to express their point of view. One of the groups examined, called "Died Suddenly", is a place where anti-vaccine activists can mourn a loved one who has died after receiving
vaccines.
Members of the Died Suddenly band use the phrase "eating the cake" to refer to inoculation with a vaccine. In this group, "eating the cake" is the supposed cause of everything from mysterious
purple bruises to cancer. One post talks about going into anaphylactic shock five minutes after receiving the 'hamburger emoji', while another says his friend's mouth stopped working after receiving too much
of "peach emoji". (In each case, it's about vaccines.) According to reports, most of the anti-vaccine groups have been formed within the last year, and some of the larger ones have changed names multiple times.
Facebook's Community Standards prohibit users from posting false claims about Covid-19, including posts that downplay the severity of the disease or falsely claim that the
vaccination is more likely to be fatal than Covid-19. Meta, Facebook's parent company, said it removed more than 27 million pieces of content for violating its Covid-19 misinformation policy,
but declined to comment on whether posts relying on emojis and coded language were considered a violation of the policy. However, Facebook's moderation efforts seem to have proven their worth.
Indeed, the need for anti-vaccine groups to use code words and emojis is an indication of the scope of these efforts. These new anti-vaccine groups have emerged as anti-vaccine content
are experiencing a wider resurgence online. Although not comparable to the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when influencers were able to rack up hundreds of thousands of followers
simply by opposing the scientific consensus, they serve as a reminder of the strength of the online anti-vaccine community. The evolutionary nature of this language is another example of how difficult it is to combat it.
Facebook's policy remains vague regarding the everyday use of emojis and code words. The only policy that Facebook appears to have that directly addresses the inappropriate use of
emojis as coded language is about community norms around sexual solicitation. Besides anti-vaccine activists, other online users have used emojis to create coded language and
avoid detection, not only by moderators, but also by law enforcement. Actors, such as drug dealers, also regularly use the language of emojis.
The US Drug Enforcement Administration publishes on its website a guide to emojis used to refer to drug exchanges, including a candy bar for Xanax, a crown to designate
a dealer, or a flare to indicate high power. This summer, it was reported that online users were increasingly relying on emojis to obscure discussions of abortion, access to
abortion becoming more restricted. Like social media, law enforcement and courts also wouldn't know how to evaluate the language of emojis as evidence when investigating violations.

Just as there were the promoters of a "hygienist" society in which all foods had to be "hygienically safe" (thus nutritionally dead) so one can be flabbergasted by the narrative of the addict who wrote this paper completely tendentious! Especially after Perronne's victory, it no longer makes sense.

Mumusk is decensoring Twitter from the benevolence that ruled it.
