the Finnish EPR was connected to the national grid on March 12, 2022 and produced its first TWh on September 19, 18 years after the start of work.

indeed, in order of magnitude, that's 250 MW on average, not really what was expected (1650 MW)! after 18 years of delay, the turbines were not yet ready? Laughable...

Not to mention the major flaw: The tank.

Going back to wind, it's like intermittent solar, I think everyone would agree (even though solar's intermittency is more regular and predictable!).

Nevertheless, at least in France, it still has the good taste to produce much more during the "electric winter" (October-March) than during the summer.

See page 3 of https://assets.rte-france.com/prod/publ ... e-2021.pdf

P: Sorry, I couldn't extract the graph, but if anyone knows how to do it, it's welcome!

you have to take a screenshot (alt + imprecr), after I open paint and I paste)

then you have to cut a little and save the image.

idiotic reasoning to measure lifetimes of one technology with another. It is to compare an aircraft from the beginnings of aviation with current aircraft. Despite a great development of wind turbines, they still remain like two-seaters of the war of 14 compared to the planes of the Wright brothers, themselves compared to current planes.
On the other hand, these wind turbines do not produce toxic waste for the next thousands of years and that is a huge negative balance.
