Energy is only a tool in the service of the human psyche.

If we reverse the proposition, it works well too! 8) :P

Also works. : Wink:
Good ? I don't know. : Lol:

Let's say that without humans in search of comfort and material security, carbonaceous fossils would always be buried.
As for the human being, we know that he is driven by his own will.
For energy, it remains to be proven, you should ask Big Bang! : Lol:
To say that the will to dissipate energy has ended up in humans in order to satisfy his will to dissipate is a bit capillotracted.

Unfortunate! Quickly put away that razor, you'll hurt yourself! : Mrgreen:
Better to use good glasses... : Wink: ...those that are not limited to mere appearances...
There is no "human" in search of comfort* that holds, many humans have made other choices, but thermodynamic selection has eliminated them, hence this bias in analysis...

* If this concept has any meaning...

Well yes, it's just that they don't have the tools to achieve it: knowledge, energy, capital.
The man has been doing just that for a long time: improving his comfort of life. Stone, stick, fire, cut stone and it's time for progress.

: Shock:
Scousi but it's a bit of a fundamentalist response. : Lol:
The "thermodynamic selection", you still have to believe in it ... another very "nebulous" concept to obscure simple things.

The big concern with your approach (Roddier) is hermeticism and that leaves a feeling of helplessness.
delirious but pleasant theses, I have seen some. The human mind is prolific.
Seeing the simplicity of reality and taking action is less common.

Simplicity is often deceiving, but it is more comfortable*, hence, perhaps, your interpretation! : Lol:

Bah, precisely yes, it's just that they don't have the tools to achieve this: knowledge, energy, capital.

Hasty conclusion with no basis other than a finalist projection. Another fault: essentialization of the human...

As for the "thermodynamic selection", it is obviously a shortcut... 8)

Wouldn't we rather have someone on the defensive, who doesn't want to let go of his comfort (his dearly acquired culture) and who refuses to see the obvious?
To make short on the obvious: No problem outside of oneself, they are all interior, which is rather pleasing, since the interior is worked on, one can "act"* on it.
* act by the simple observation of what is.

There is no comfort in seeing this and experiencing this, quite the contrary, since questioning is not what one might call a "comfortable" situation.

For the mind, making or keeping things complex, gives them value and consequently, the individual gives himself value, this is a driving force for maintaining complexity.
See topic on Ukraine vs Russia as true simplicity chars everything
The ego, this mental construction, abhors true simplicity, because it instinctively feels that it leads to its own destruction.

And if not what does Roddier's theory bring in terms of problem solving?
I see only fatalism and impotence there, no longer a burden to put in the bucket of complexity.

I'm afraid I have to write : Arrowd:

isn't comfort the anagram of strong con?! : roll: : Shock:
As for the human being, we know that he is driven by his own will.
like any living being as long as it is a question of one's own will rather than of particular circumstances causing one to act in one direction rather than another.
does the sun, the wind, the rain, the atom or the cell have a personal will?

AND ? what should we deduce from all this?
That fossil fuels would have come out of the ground on their own anyway, to burn and reach the atmosphere?
It is possible punctually but it supposes sacred geological upheavals.
Only humans have done it so systematically.

the answer is in yourself!
That fossil fuels would have come out of the ground on their own anyway, to burn and reach the atmosphere?
rather see these products as fluids among others as there are in living beings and their role
It is possible punctually but it supposes sacred geological upheavals.
don't stop at the appearances linked to our social cultures
Only humans have done it so systematically.
No more than any element of this universe. Simply he made use of a product like we make use of food, meant to provide energy too! The question is rather: was it a good choice, just like our choices in food and therefore with its consequences.
But this subject is more philosophical than materialistic.
