And now the variant...Centaur...then the next one will be a Satyr? Is there no critter half man half sheep let's get it over with? : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:

Should we be worried about Centaur, the new Omicron variant? "It can spread around the world very quickly"

A new variant of covid should arrive in Belgium within a few days. Should we already fear for our winter?

Covid is definitely not over yet. After the increase in cases for a few days, a new variant of the coronavirus could harm our fall and our winter. The BA.2.75 variant, more commonly called "Centaure" is actually not a new covid variant but a new version of Omicron BA.2 which has been dominant in Europe and much of the world since the beginning of the year.

So far, scientists have no couldn't prove that Centaur was more virulent or caused any other symptoms than the Omicron version we know. On the other hand, early research showed that it could more resistant to antibodies.

Isn't the ending a bit contradictory? : Shock:

So, on January 3, 2023, where are we with the variants? Apparently they have BA codified names. blablabla...even more difficult to remember!

I told you: the Greek alphabet would not be enough... : Mrgreen:

Since it's seasonal, with a significant history, all you have to do is freeze and then seize the financial assets of pfizer and the hyena,
then to pay compensation to the injured and dismissed

The variant, called XBB.1.5, is a descendant of Omicron and a close relative of the XBB variant, which became widely available in Singapore and India last fall. A study published in December in the journal Cell demonstrated that XBB evades immune defenses acquired through vaccination and prior infection better than other variants. This increases the risk of reinfection, a World Health Organization group warned in October, although the group said at the time that XBB did not appear to cause significantly more severe disease than previous strains.

In addition to its ability to circumvent immune blocks, XBB.1.5 appears to be highly transmissible, thanks to certain key mutations detected during the evolution of the virus. These adjustments are fueling concerns about an increase in cases this winter, especially given low recall rates and easing disease mitigation measures.

another joker who has just discovered that water is wet!
no vaccination (when it is a vaccination, not this bricolo called vaccine) favors the immune defences, and neither does this bricolo, but over-solicit them for plums favoring, on the contrary, a superinfection in the most fragile while promoting effects short-, medium- or long-term secondary as seen in vaccinees.
