Morality: vaccinate children under 10 and continue to wear the mask indoors, to avoid liver problems following a Covid 19 infection
Recently, the Centers for Diseases and Control issued a national health alert about an increase in cases of hepatitis of unknown origin in children, raising concerns about the potential sequelae of COVID-19 infection. In this study, we are testing whether there was an increased risk of elevated serum liver enzymes and bilirubin after COVID-19 infection in children. We performed a retrospective cohort study on a national electronic health record (EHR) database of patients in the United States. The study population includes 796 children aged 369 to 1 years, including 10 who had contracted COVID-245 between March 675, 19 and March 11, 2020 and 11 who had contracted another respiratory infection (ARI) not RELATED TO COVID during the same period.
Compared to children infected with other respiratory infections, children infected with COVID-19 infection had a significantly increased risk of AST or ALT (hazard ratio or HR: 2,52, 95% confidence interval % or CI: 2,03-3,12) and total bilirubin (HR: 3,35, 95% CI: 2,16-5,18). These results suggest acute and long-term hepatic sequelae of COVID-19 in pediatric patients.

Since September 3, 2021, the island has been vaccinating children from the age of 2. Today, 95% of children and adolescents between the ages of 2 and 18 are fully vaccinated there, according to the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, reports the British newspaper The Guardian.
It is thanks to the confidence of Cubans in their community health system that the country arrives at this record rate of vaccination of children. In addition, these are Cuban vaccines that are injected into children, the Abadala and Soberana vaccines. The vaccination of toddlers is widely considered by the population as a matter of common sense.
