CATL the lithium battery giant in China becomes the second largest market capitalization in China, overtaking Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd.

CATL becomes China's second-biggest stock

Bloomberg News | November 22, 2021

China investor favorite Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. hit a fresh record on Monday, overtaking a state-owned bank to become the second-largest company listed onshore.

With a market capitalization of nearly 1.59 trillion yuan ($ 249 billion) at the close, the Tesla supplier narrowly surpassed Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. at 1.55 trillion yuan. Chinese liquor maker Kweichow Moutai Co. remains the number-one stock with a market value of 2.33 trillion yuan.
..............
Based in the southeastern province of Fujian, CATL is the world's largest manufacturer of power batteries and materials and also counts auto giants Daimler, BMW, BAIC Motor Corp as its customers. Shares of the bellwether of China's EV supply chain have nearly doubled this year, amid Beijing's vigorous support for green vehicles and carbon neutrality.

October 2021 auto market: the electric car still in the green

Michael Torregrossa 2 Nov 2021

In a collapsing auto market, the electric car remains in the green. In France, nearly 16 registrations were recorded in October.

Between the shortage of parts and the lengthening delivery times, the automotive market is at its worst. However, the electric car continues to resist the ambient gloom. According to figures communicated by the PFA, electric represented 13,15% of new passenger car sales in October in France. A total of 15 registrations were recorded over the period, which is 587% more than a year ago. A good performance in an auto market which, overall, is down by 50% compared to last year.

The Dacia Spring electrifies the market
If we will have the opportunity to come back in more detail on sales by model in the coming days, the data communicated by the PFA is already giving us some interesting results.

With 2 units sold, the Renault ZOE should take the lead in the segment in October. The diamond city car is closely followed by the Dacia Spring, which has 348 registrations and helps boost sales in the hitherto unoccupied low-cost segment. In the end, the two models of the Renault group should occupy the top of the ranking for the month of October, ahead of the Model 2 which has accumulated 204 registrations over the period.

Electric Top 10 - October 2021

Renault ZOE (2.348 units)
Dacia Spring (2.204 units)
Peugeot e-208 (1.732 units)
Tesla Model 3 (951 units)
Renault Twingo ZE (903 units)
Fiat 500 (875 units)
Peugeot e-2008 (655 units)
Kia e-Niro (530 units)
Mini Cooper SE (466 units)
Hyundai Kona Electric (463 units)

Record for plug-in hybrid

Also insensitive to the gloomy automotive market, the plug-in hybrid achieved historic performance in October, approaching 10% market share for the first time (9,75% to be exact). In volume, the 11 units sold in October are far from equaling the historic performance of June (560).

The electric car is sold because for the moment the state does not levy the fair share of taxes compared to other models.

I have an acquaintance who just changed jobs. He will go to work at 1h20 (about 120km), 3 days a week (the rest by telecommuting). For EDF. So he bought a "big model" electric car (49k € !!!), because he will pay very little for electricity. I'm still stunned. It's about 30000 terminals per year, just for this reason. : Shock:

No Guy ... Only the cons tribuables put their hands in their pockets ... And personally ... By paying my EDF bill ... I pay a lot of contribution so that the poor can have electricity at a social rate ... Thinking...

Why "no Guy" if you are a taxpayer? Having said that, I would rather pass my money on to poor people in poverty than to sponsor cons false environmentalists.
