Ah yes Franky and his obligation to reload in the Channel not to make splash ...
Wanting to fly without a wing, the birds didn't even think about it :D

As for a flying car? Without wing also surely? ...

A wingless car is nothing but a big drone! ... and given the speed at which the technology and the size of the drones progress, I am sure that the flying car will arrive faster than what we think!

Franky Zapata is currently working on his flying car ...

A priori, France (its administration) is not ready to authorize the flying car. (the highway code should be redesigned, and given the slowness of the administrations, it's not for tomorrow). Franky Zapata therefore left to develop his project in the USA, and probably the flying car will be used in 3-dimensional circuit racing! (the cars will be able to overtake on the right, the left, above, below! ... : Shock: ).

(I can't wait to read the future Tesla catalog in the category "Tesla - Model V ... as a steering wheel" : Cheesy: )

The Israeli-American company Eviation is preparing the first test flights of its luxury 11-seat fully electric "Alice" aircraft with an impressive range of over 800 kilometers.

The propellers seem a little small to me ... but hey ... they must know what they are doing!

We can estimate its equivalent consumption in L / passenger. 100 km

Battery: 820 kWh usable = 820/3 = 280 L equivalent (30% efficiency and 10 kWh per L of kero)
Capacity: 9 passengers
Autonomy: 440 Nm = 800 km

We therefore have a consumption of 280/9/8 = 3.9 L / passenger. 100 km ... certainly less in real terms given the safety reserves ...

Christophe in 2017 wrote:I present to you ALICE a "new" comer (finally still at the "synthetic" concept stage) on the restricted market of electric aviation.

It is a 2 + 9 business jet with a rather original configuration: 3 propeller propellers, 2 two-bladed wingtips and a three-bladed tail.

https://www.eviation.co/alice/

Inverted wing profile trapezoid geometry (like some ASK8 type gliders), glider motorcycle wingspan (at least). Y-shaped.

It makes me think of the Piaggio P180 Avanti - especially the nose - https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piaggio_P180_Avanti

In my opinion it will be quite "fine" to drive!

Alice has an impressive range of 600 miles per 980 kWh Li-ion battery charge and a maximum speed of 270 knots - that's roughly 310 mph.

With a good 0.25 kWh / kg it is still 980 / 0.25 = 4 tons of batteries ... it's much more (about double) than the mass of kerosene of business planes https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_Citation_Excel (4 tons of payload, fuel included) with much less autonomy ...

Not sure that a prototype flies a day ... but the concept is there ... and if it was thermal, it would have autonomy certainly very interesting!

In this respect: the constant mass of electric aviation can be considered as an asset aerodynamically speaking ...

Design changed, delivery in 2024 to DHL?

I have a doubt given the delays: https://www.bfmtv.com/economie/entrepri ... 80107.html
