With all the tons of water falling almost constantly, the critters are struggling to escape into their galleries and I think a lot of them have suffered.

mole rats have become simple rats. The inexperienced young people are having like blues, they were the victim of the blow of the father François.
They take advantage of the vegetable waste from the kitchen which is spread on the floor of the vegetable garden.
This is one of the disadvantages of wanting to feed soil microbes: everyone benefits.

Until now, I hadn't had any problems. But this year, several feet of zucchini, feet of potatoes, potatoes ... I feel that it will not stop there. Maybe a downside to not working the soil?
I bought a "Supercat" trap: how effective?
The price of the "topcat" traps (70 €) makes it go back a bit!

The traps at home come from Asia and there are 4 for really cheap, especially since they are very good.

If possible, maybe you could give me the site where you order them from?

It hurts more in the heart when they bring back birds to me (5 to 10 per year of pluckers) ... I noticed that this happened especially during heat waves (density of the air? Physiological fatigue of the birds ??). The worst is when they manage to get it in and they pluck it inside !!! What a mess !

I fall back on this old thread.

I think that when it's hot, the birds come to drink at water points where good cats, good hunters know how to wait for them!

I use Supercat and Topcat interchangeably. Purchases before the discovery of the "Puttange", indeed, unbeatable (1 € and some a piece!) ...

The Topcat is the best: mine are 4 or 5 years old, hang out outside, have not flinched ...

The Supercats have a "flaw", the opening of the bottom. When you put in place, be careful not to bring in soil, which can immobilize the fork that serves as a trigger ... And after the same time, two out of 4 are broken (the plastic ring at the bottom shattered; rats -taupiers who had a too hard head ????).

The Puttange is a helping hand to acquire to arm it (I pinched myself once! Beginner's fault! Once you get the hang of it, it's actually easy!). And a little more difficult to set up. I use a tile to cover it, so that my cat doesn't get caught (otherwise, it's me who takes my wife's roustes !!!) ... And then attach the small square which serves as a trigger, otherwise you have to look for it ... Even the traps, I attached them to big labels so as not to lose any underground!
