Guy you're infernal ...

What did I say: not relaunch this sterile debate ... since it depends on the counting of cases (testing) and whether or not asymptomatic patients are taken into account ...

2.15 M deaths / 100.14 M cases how many IFR?

Otherwise your table shows an interesting thing: the difference in mortality linked to sex has changed considerably over the years ... something that I did not know! I knew there was an average 1/3 F 2/3 M ratio ...

But here we see that the excess male mortality goes from equity up to 59 years old to

- 66% more up to age 69
- 170% more up to age 79
- 244% over 80 years

An 85-year-old man is therefore 2.44 times more likely to pass there than his 84-year-old wife ... but there is also more than 7 out of 8 people over 80 are doing well! Not that deadly this covid!

244% in medicine is ÉNORME !

Wouldn't there be anything to dig (well I think some smarter than me are on the spot!), How the organism of an 80 year old woman is so different from that of a man?

Otherwise about variants there is a new topic: sante-pollution-prevention / covid-mutations-et-variants-sars-cov2-evolution-immunite-treatments-vaccines-t16725.html

The United States now has more deaths from COVID than in World War II.
The UK is at 25% of the WWII total.
France at more than 10%.
etc., etc...

Except that WW2 lasted longer ... but some days of WWII were certainly deadlier than yesterday's record 2 deaths ... not to mention the 18 A bombs ...

Unheard of since the start of the pandemic, 18.109 deaths were recorded Tuesday around the world, according to an AFP count on Wednesday.

We are still very far from the 50 Million deaths ...
