Air conditioner outlet hole

by lebopaul » 25/07/20, 11:12

Hello
In the room that I want to cool with an air conditioning, I have a ventilation duct which goes down to the lower floor and to which is connected a small ventilation fan
and I wanted to drill this duct that goes into the room to connect the outlet of my air conditioner
is it possible ?
I would like to point out that the toilet fan only works 2 to 3 times a day and for 2 to 3 minutes

please

I see 2 problems:
- When it is the aerator of the lower floor that will work you risk having a "return" in the room ... and if this aerator is intended to evacuate bad smells I do not need to do you a drawing.
- The pressure drops in this ventilation duct which will certainly be beyond what is foreseen by the manufacturer of the air conditioner and which will therefore certainly significantly reduce its performance.

A diagram would help to see more clearly. You can put pictures too.

Basically you want to connect the output of an air conditioning bypassing an existing CMV? I think it is possible after some checks or "temporary" tests (= you tape the output on the VMC and you see what happens quite simply!)

You must actually see the lengths and diameters recommended in the installation instructions and see where the valve (s) are located so that it does not flow back into the toilet ... there is necessarily a valve otherwise the smell of the toilet would go into bedroom ?

Also watch out for condensation in the duct.

When you write a message at the bottom left of the screen there is an attachments tab you click, it opens a menu add files then since you have hosted your photo you must know how ... well if you want your photo appears in the message you have a function to insert the file in the line ...
