As for the 2 other thrusters dropped at lower altitude, we will have to wait for a few shots and a few more fireworks. This second release is more complex because it is done at a much higher altitude and speed.

It's been a long time since we had what to dream of with the space conquest. Thank you Space X.

we return to the good old tintin rocket with the reversal maneuver (flip maneuver at space x)

I ask myself questions: the glider landing of the shuttle does not cost anything in energy ... landing with a retro rocket Tintin method requires energy which had to be taken away on takeoff

I find it hard to believe that a retrofused landing of the launcher is the best solution ... but that I find it hard to believe is not an important argument ... they must have calculated more seriously than me!

the shuttle landed without energy but it is heavy and it was necessary to consume energy to mount it in orbit ... the launchers landing tintin method are perhaps lighter, and the economy with the rise compensates the expense with the descent

There is also the parachute to save fuel, but the shock might have been too severe. In any case, profitability must be calculated as accurately as possible
Competition is fierce in this market. Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, with the SpaceX initiative which is tackling the other cost item relating to micro-satellites, that of launching and putting into orbit. To avoid using space rockets at the stratospheric price and which places spacecraft in geostationary orbit (nearly 36 km), companies like SpaceX are working on low-cost launchers to install satellites in low orbit ( 000 km). SpaceX is considering a constellation of 1200 satellites, and has obtained the support of Google and the Fidelity fund, which took 4000% of its capital for a billion euros last January. https://www.silicon.fr/airbus-va-concev ... 57018b500b

This could end badly for Starman !!!

http://www.nationalgeographic.fr/espace ... -sur-terre

Tesla sent to space could crash on Earth

According to the most recent estimates, each long loop around the Sun brings the sports car closer to a passionate encounter with our planet.

(...)

"The Tesla will probably crash on Earth from here a few tens of millions of years Says Hanno Rein of the University of Toronto.

At least this is the finest estimate that Hanno Rein can make, based on simulations of the future wanderings of the Tesla Roadster. The car, transported by the second floor of the Falcon Heavy and "driven" by a mannequin named Starman, is already listed as a "body of the solar system" in a catalog held by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Lucy lived 7 million years ago. Toumaï there are 3 and some ...

Can you imagine Lucy picking up an IMac on the face ????

In 10 million years, our descendants (if there are any) will pick up a Tesla! It will be the other way around - they will wonder what this "fossil" that fell from the sky is.

Starman and its Tesla Roadster have just completed their first orbit around the Sun

Yvonne Gangloff August 20, 2019

According to Where is Roadster, the bogus cosmic pilot completed its first orbit around the sun in 557 days.

In more than a year, Starman and its Tesla have traveled 762 million miles (1 km), a distance that allowed them to complete their first orbit around the sun.

If the departure of Starman and the Tesla was exactly on February 6, 2018, know that it will most likely be necessary to wait until the end of 2020 to see the electric vehicle, when it will be only 7,4 million kilometers from Earth.

A monumental waste, an unnecessary operation for a hallucinating carbon footprint. Human bullshit in all its splendor.
