Possible, my understanding of physics is probably not sharp enough to judge. By cons, I know enough nature to say that if the wheel was so advantageous, life would endow ... Opinion of an ecologist, not a mechanic. : Mrgreen:

The wheel has a very linear operation, out of a certain context, not only it is not very effective, but its maneuvering possibilities are very reduced compared to legs.

There is no doubt that life, based on some initial data, has made excellent choices in terms of animal locomotion.

Extremely relevant: try a little to drive a toy car on some "natural" terrain, you will quickly come back to the good old legs.

There is one exception, however, and of size:

The flagada: comic bird of the late Charles Degotte (Ed Dupuis)

Wonderful bird, without wings, but equipped with a caudal propeller!

the problem of interfacing body-propeller is the same! :D

Finally, it exists, but at the bacterial level: https://www.popsci.com/3d-view-biologic ... teria-move

the wheel consumes less energy than legs ... it is the perfect solution for mechanical gear

but the living machines need a blood vessel ... everything must be irrigated from a ship to be alive ... and impossible to pass the veins and arteries in a thing that has a continuous rotation ... so no continuous rotation in animals

... The Campylobacter motor has enough strength to propel itself into the intestines, resulting in a bad case of food poisoning.

At the same time, another bacterium that scientists have watched, which is closely related to Vibrio cholerae (the bacterium that produces cholera) ...
and salmonella, that nice bacteria that are better not to have in the body.

As for men (and women), the advantage of the wheel is destructive for the rest of the living : Twisted: : Mrgreen:
