Green laser to light pellets?

by belladonna » 26/02/15, 12:04

Hello,
did anyone try,
if he has a green laser (1000mw or more) and pellets,
to position the laser to ignite the pellets?

please

Uh, it would surprise me if an 1W laser happens to ignite pellets ...

It heats on a finger ???

Oh yes, that's amazing : Shock:

To light a pellet ... I remain perplexed ...

Let's wait for the opinion of others ...

bin, I tried, it lights a match (provided that the battery is well charged), but the pellet no, may be it should have a power other than the battery
business to follow

Why turn to the laser which is inefficient if it is weak and dangerous in the opposite case?
Except taste pronounced for experimentation (which is respectable), a simple glow plug diesel engine gives satisfaction without complicating life ... 8)

yes, it's an experiment, to try ignition without contact with the pellets.

provide a small power supply and go on a diode of 2 has 3 watts which should be largely sufficient but the green diodes are not terrible, I could read that the blue light diodes was much more effective (do not ask me why it is too technical for me) and the laser alone is not enough it takes a lens to focus the light but pellets do not light like that, it would need a fan also for ignition (ptet that of the stove if possible)

to give a similar element of answer, the closer we get to the ultra violet, the higher the energy density (the blue being closer to purple than the green, it will be more efficient)

ps: to my wishes
