Big Pull Day for Belgian schools: -1 ° C deposit

An interesting initiative (to copy / paste in France?) To raise awareness of heating savings ... Although with 1 ° C lower I do not think it takes a big sweater more ... but the When is the big sweater for? :D Well, all of this is symbolic!

Finally when we see how we educate the youngest ... is there maybe hope?

Summary:

This Thursday, February 16, 2012, is "Big Sweater Day". Like every year, you can reduce the heat by one degree and compensate by putting on a big sweater. As usual, the 2012 edition is mainly geared towards education, but you can also participate at home or at work. You will thus contribute to the fight against global warming.

This campaign aims to acquire some very simple good reflexes to save energy: turn off the lights when leaving a room, unplug appliances or adjust a heating. For example, lowering your heating by one degree can consume 7% less fuel, which also reduces the CO2 released into the atmosphere. By putting on a large sweater, you will bear this drop in temperature without problem and without losing comfort.

The "Big Sweater Day" began as a symbolic action in support of the Kyoto Protocol. This day revolves around simple actions that you can easily carry out throughout the year. The intelligent use of energy is a big step forward in the fight against greenhouse gas emissions and the resulting climate change.

A twist of truth in the middle of a big lie by omission, isn't that the definition of propaganda?

The citizen sent back to his isolation as producer-consumer is summoned to "make small gestures for the planet" under the debonair rule of the managers of the Pollution Machine ...
While he religiously follows these holy precepts, at least he will not have the preposterous and petty idea of making the connection with the planned destruction of nature on the altar of value!

When you realize that, when you spend Sunday in schools, in the middle of winter, even during the holidays and it's 20 ° C, you think it's flan! : Evil:

We would do much better to raise a body of "young pensioners" in charge of

cut the heating in the classrooms 1/4 hour before the end of the lessons (except the premises which will be used for daycare and other activities)
reopen the radiators around 7 a.m. in winter, 00 in mid season
come and check that the heating is closed in all rooms at 18 p.m.
adjust the boiler water T ° to the season
shut off hall radiators.

Normally, we could invest so that it is automatic, but some municipalities do not want to invest or delay these small savings while waiting for "big projects"
And anyway, these automations must be supervised because there are cheaters or people who turn on the heat for a meeting and do not turn it off.

Another perverse fact: schools receive an endowment for their fuel and arrange to consume as much each year, to be sure to receive the same endowment the following year. There is no "motivating" system

Exactly, the installation of hourly thermostats is the investment that is the most profitable in terms of return ... even more interesting than insulation!

Besides the cumbersome administration (note that I did not say buried), do not forget that the State does not pay for its fuel at the same price as us ... since it changes most of the bill, "it" necessarily sees things differently!
