It may put an end to the quarrel between Europeans and Koreans with the Japanese, in particular with Nichia who accused Philips, Siemens, Samsung of manufacturing counterfeits of its products in China. The Supreme Court of the USA granted the authorship of the blue and white leds to Nichia after a lawsuit which will have lasted several years. Philips, Siemens, Samsung immediately signed license agreements with Nichia.
