Hello everybody
I started making paper sticks.
At the moment, I have a seal in which I put paper, cardboard for a month. And for putting paper and cardboard in it, I put in a lot.
At the moment, it's not a lot of birch.
Now that I have 25l of paper pulp, I wonder how to pack it into sticks.
2 comes to mind:
- pour it into 5l molds (can cut) and allow to dry.
- make a very simple but solid manual press (compared to what is done on the market) and press it into a round tube.
are there other ideas, practical and effective DIY?

same answer plain paper contains more mineral filler than real cellulose: that's why it makes so much ash ... once wet and put in block it's too difficult to dry
to burn paper effectively you need above all a good hearth that does not get smothered by ash
I made myself a brick hearth to burn wafers, with blown air like a blast furnace: the temperature is enormous: it melts the ash and does nothing but chew
if I put a compact stack of paper in it, it is transformed into a white block that is only mineral: all the carbon is gasified by heat! but it only works when wood is the main fuel, and I take this opportunity to get rid of the cluttering paper

Hello,
should I thank you for your discouragement ???
In short, the interest would not be to heat my, but to keep the fireplace lit at night.
At 25 liters of pulp per month, its allows me to revalorize it without counting as much at 100% above

I don't want to discourage you from burning paper ... but burn paper when there is a need for a big fire, just to save wood
and when there is a need for a small fire forget the paper and store it for the following winter
paper is easier to store dry in its original state than wet and poorly dried

In agreement with the mineral load, this is explained by the coating of the papers (in principle material class 3 in my corner, see standard Afnor in France), the coating of the paper is indeed carried out with chalk and the paper type used is made from cotton rags.
It is therefore necessary to take exclusively paper "with wood" (material class 6 in my corner, see the Afnor standard which is suitable in France). It is the vulgar daily newspaper.
But similar, possible release of toxic products by the inks (even if there remain much less considerable quantities than during printing, since today they dry by oxidation)

No need to press, a few jumps or tanks are enough, on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aLZ88_DZz8
