Garage box construction

by airsp » 05/07/13, 04:38

Hello,

What alternative to build garages / boxes in order to rent them?
Is there anything other than concrete?

Thank you

Yes :
1) the timber frame.
2) The metal frame

For the walls, there must be an aspect consistent with the location, specified (or imposed) in the building permit.

Bare concrete, or plaster on concrete, or sheet metal, or painted wooden walls ...

For the roof, ditto: tiles, steel pan, corrugated sheets in various materials ... everything depends on the environment and the technical and economic choice.

Ok for the wooden frame.
But how do I fill to have a coated appearance and above all to be fairly solid since people want to store material

there is no garage wall that resists for a long time ... a good mass breaks the breeze blocks, a good grinding wheel or even shears cut the sheets, a good saw opens the boards.

Unless you make a reinforced concrete bunker ... and very often it is the door the weak point. A good crowbar and the lock gives way. Not to mention the windows or openings on the roof!

Otherwise, there are plasters that stick to the wood. Some people recommend making a hook with nails and / or wire mesh before plastering.

For example:

Yes but the general spirit, the concrete block seems a little more resistant.
If not, what recommendations for closing the timber frame?
OSB?
I'm not going to put on the rain cover anyway !!!

the simplest and most economical is the concrete block wall

of course with a mass you can break it ... but it's not that easy! in a blow of mass one breaks a concrete block alone in a thousand piece ... but I already had to break a wall in concrete block well cemented: it is another business, it is necessary to type a long time before succeeding in making a hole when everything fits

and in any case it is not a question of building a safe: simply something that does not break ridiculously easily like the small garden sheds made of sheet metal!

there is more economical with me: stone and earth improved with a little lime ... economical in materials because I can do it with what is available on the ground ... but not economical at all in working time!

just if you use a conventional mortar of sand and cement to make a stone wall the consumption of cement exceeds the price of aglo, which come up with a much lower amount of cement than stones
