The cold of the future? Magnetocaloric effect

Hello,
This is not a cannulart, I find that it can be giant and finally lead to a "perpetual movement", to reflect on:

This is not because we always said that it is impossible that we should not try :)

Hello,
I haven't understood everything yet, it seems to mix thermodynamics and quantum physics : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:
Do a little "google search" with the term "magnetocaloric.

Magnetic cold is not a recent discovery ...

Discovered in 1881 by Warburg and explained theoretically and named "low-calorie effect" 1918 by Weiss and Picard.

Nevertheless, numerous researches have had him since 2000 on the question.

Hello
It seems interesting because some materials have their Curie temperature (T ° or this effect is remarkable) in use temperatures I would say "domestic":

Other info:

Who talks about nickel and spontaneous magnetic fields near its Curie temperature, does that mean anything to you? : Mrgreen:

This system seems to have been the subject of intense and (sometimes) confidential research because it would seem to consume - + 30% less energy than gas compression refrigeration:

If I understand correctly, they use this effect, the hysteresis effect.
I will read a little more in depth.

Hello,
To buy gadolinium : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:
http://www.stanfordmaterials.com/gd.html
But the price is not online, you have to call for a tender.
(Found, around 4000 € per kilo !!)
