Map of proven oil reserves in 2009

Oil, gas, coal, nuclear (PWR, EPR, hot fusion, ITER), gas and coal thermal power plants, cogeneration, tri-generation. Peakoil, depletion, economics, technologies and geopolitical strategies. Prices, pollution, economic and social costs ...

Well so right .... the proven reserves of 2008 are higher than that of 1998 themselves higher than those of 1988 ...

It's the number in the middle ...

The explanation is simple: technological evolution allowing to drill deeper (deepwater in the 80s it was Science Fiction !!) ... and cost of the barrel which goes up and which makes "provable" reserves which do not. were not before (well considered not economically exploitable).

The calculation must finally be quite clever because mix between geology and economy ...

Finally I think that's it ...

yes ... agree ..
In addition, new technologies complement and prepare the future.
I'm talking about clean and dirty technologies ..
Which will always be managed by the same international companies.

Some of them read diagonally.

Or they have to replace their bottoms with progressive lenses. : Cheesy: : Mrgreen:

Of course he could not "stay more" in 2008 than 1998 ...

I said "in absolute terms", huh : Lol: And if you skip that : Arrowd:

Or else [...] they had absolutely no idea then, how much the reserves were really, [...]

Inevitably .... What matters is that we agree, ultimately, huh : Cheesy: hihihihihhi

Absolutely, and this is the case here!

the injection of water does not allow recovery until the last drop.

It significantly increases the recovery rate of "in place" oil. For example from 30% to 50%.
It's already huge.

You're absolutely right : Cheesy: I shouldn't have repeated my boss’s words.
But hey, the oil shortage is looming.
The proof is that the big oil industries are investing in new sources of energy. (solar, nuclear, shale gas, coal, methanol, oil sands, etc.)
