Christmas storm 1999 back? Blame the streams Jets?

by dedeleco » 13/12/11, 00:28

Christmas 1999 storm back ???, because jet streams return, depending on weather, wind of 120km / h (more ???) and given the uncertainties of the weather, everything is possible tomorrow and Friday, like the 25-27 December 1999.
Already a dead man in Hendaye.

Scotland has already suffered.

Sources?

According to MétéoFrance the gusts will not exceed 95km / h, peak Friday at 110 ... so half as much as Lothar for the moment!

But it is sure that it blows in the North since yesterday!

A reference site for forecast winds and gusts is http://www.windguru.cz/fr/index.php?sc=300 (Cattenom example) beware the default values are in knots!

I was at a weather conference last night with RTBF "Mister Weather" Denis Collard who lives in the region.

A (small) storm is expected this evening to tomorrow evening with passage from the center to the North of France / Brittany according to the models.

The conference was very complete and technical (presentation of a model, reading of maps, weather reports ...) without the paramotor training that I just had, I would not have understood much !!

I learned, for example, that each economic "power" had its own calculation models. And concerning the storm tonight, the French model places the center of the depression in Brittany, while the US model places it in the North ...

A priori it would rather be the US model which would be right because confirmed by other models ... to see.

Here are the last forecasts of the passage, it is "between the 2" (well it depends on the model that we see it is maybe the FR corrected since yesterday):

I would make a subject about the weather ... here is already a free and free site which gives all the necessary information to forecasters: http://www.wetter3.de/ (model results)

Weaker than Xynthia, says France, 140 on coasts at 110km / h interior.

The differences are in the forecast uncertainties over 12h, and above all, the French make fun of the storms over Scotland and Ireland, more numerous, more usual and stronger, as soon as a residue arrives in France.

The paramotor learns the lubbies of the jet streams turning around the planet at the bottom of the body ???

And well, it’s nasty breath in Central Europe, gusts up to 170 km / h in places, and at altitude 135 knots at 35 000 feet, we took a lot here :!:
