Renewable energies except solar electric or thermal (seeforums dedicated below): wind turbines, energy from the sea, hydraulic and hydroelectricity, biomass, biogas, deep geothermal energy ...

The first prototype wind turbine after 7 years of study, was erected on July 14, 1947 near Orléans in collaboration with EDF : a three-blade propeller 6m50 in diameter, at the top of a 30m mast.

The wind turns : Mrgreen:

thank you Fthanron,
I wonder then,
"my dear WATSON a question torments me"
how is it that the manufacturer DE HAVILLAND who bought the patents from Jean ANDREAU did nothing convincing with!

After the long fundamental work of Jean ANDREAU, the hard part was done and the functioning of the concept was acquired? (fundamental calculations, first prototypes, first tests ..... etc,

it remained to develop the thing industrially and to improve in parallel the overall performance of the machines, as we have been doing in an applied way since the years 1990/2000 for the large three-bladed blades of several MW which are the glory of our new offshore fields ... ..)

finally there would not have been, in europe, in general a destructive ostracism towards the wind energy sector which somewhat hampered the emergence of nuclear power and which also titillated the hegemony of cheap oil ..... what happened "also" to the BEST ROMANI wind turbine and to the brilliant studies carried out at the time at the BEST (beginning of the 60s) calls out to me ..... hum ..... hum .....? (simple question of candid)

A+

Pascal
