Tire life

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

Something that goes back to what was said above, in the 70s we used Michelin X tires on 2CVs. The mechanic told us that we had to buy the tires in advance and store them for 1 to 3 years so that they "dry" and that this would significantly increase their longevity.

For tire aging, there is UV .... and ozone.

In the current state, we can see that it should not exceed one year of storage ... but is it still relevant with today's erasers, that was the question?

There are codes written on the tires which indicate their lifespan.
Their maximum date of use. Tuff Allemend changes tires when they are too old!
It was the case on my twingo ...
because, it is the tires then it is the catalytic converter then the air-bags then the engine leaks then the play in the ball joints then rust or it is not necessary then you are prohibited from driving in town because your not to the latest standard then ...
I'm tired of their bullshit ... : Evil:

This is why I put the car in recycling and why I cycle!
I have a 400gr tire that I change when I want and that is 10 km : Cheesy:

And their carbon tax, you don't care. 8)

You're all good:

- economy

Yes, yes, I think it's beneficial. The results are positive. Of course, it would be better without pollution.

Because everyone, even in the car, breathes the same mixture (certainly, with less intensity). So instead of wanting these drivers, think that not only are they breathing badly but they are getting annoyed (which is bad) and not moving. Everything to prepare their infarction ...

It's like fruits and vegetables: it is better to eat 5 per day, even if they are not organic, despite pesticides, rather than not eating them. The question is decided statistically ...

If they were serious, they told you to store them in the dark. One of the problems is UV.

But I also think that the technology has evolved well. At the time, it was still a lot (exclusively?) Of natural rubber and carbon ...

I also think that the additives kept jealously secret by the equipment manufacturers to give certain characteristics to their gums must also affect their longevity.
