Boiler settings to save pellets?

by logredudon » 08/04/10, 19:04

Hello,

Currently the set temperatures of my pellet boiler are as follows:

Set point temperature 19 ° C on the day (from 4h to 22h), 16 ° C at night (from 22h to 4h).

First of all, do you think these temperatures are correct (not too much difference day / night)?

Not being at home from 8h00 to 18h00, I thought to program the boiler in night set temperature from 8h00 to 16h00: what do you think?
Will I save with such settings? Or do I risk over-consumption of pellets (due to the energy required to heat the house)?

In addition the boiler is programmed for a DHW production at noon: do I have to cancel it?

Goods.

Have you done a search? https://www.econologie.com/forums/search.php

At least subject 4 talk about the pellet boiler setting:

https://www.econologie.com/forums/recherche- ... t6510.html

In addition the boiler is programmed for a DHW production at noon: do I have to cancel it?

Already, I would put 2-3h morning because this is where the outer T ° nocturnal is the lowest ... midi is almost the worst settings (the worst would be between 14-15h where the T ° external diurnal is the strongest)

two things I noticed in use:

1-the reduction / comfort gap must be as large as possible compatible with the power of temperature rise. that's what makes the most savings. at worst, if you agree to have ZERO heating the night even in the middle of winter, even if you anticipate a lot of recovery, this will consume TOTAL the least energy.
after, everything is a question of compromise.

2- with the pellets, you have to try to optimize the operating periods, including for the ECS so avoid starting the boiler just for that.
after several tests, I found that to start the boiler in the morning BEFORE the comfort mode for the ECS is a good compromise: eg the comfort mode redemerre 6h30 home. with anticipation, it actually starts to 6h. I set the ECS from 5h to 8h. in this way, the boiler starts again before the comfort range which is reduced because the boiler is already raised in temperature to make the ECS. the ECS is available for the morning toilet and more we take advantage that the boiler is still in temperature to redo a little ECS on what was drawn when everyone left in the morning.

all that is of course adapted according to his habits of presence, etc.

Thank you for the info,

just a clarification: The lowest external nocturnal T ° is not towards 2-3h but just before sunrise ...

Yes you're right but at 2h dawn she is already very close to the mini, here is a curve of T ° / hour of the day (blue curve):

If you have other more readable example I'm interested :)

But to seek optimization, it is better to start it later, provided it is not too early for its shower, of course. :)

So I + 1 Dirk Pitt ...
