Hello,
I just bought a stone house in the Périgord and I want to make it as green as possible.
I am thinking of installing a Canadian well coupled with a dual flow VMC and I have already had several quotes made.
The problem is that I cannot find reliable information regarding the various solutions offered.
Basically, I am offered "Atlantis" or "Helios" but I can not find anything other than information from the manufacturers. I am particularly afraid of the noise that the VMC can make.
Can someone help me make my choice?

Hélios is a good brand, maybe a little expensive.
Zehnder is not bad at all too.
Atlantic I don't know.
For the noise, I can't really help you, you would have to ask to visit installations already made to get an idea for yourself.
However, the quality of the ducts of efficient installations means that there is no transmission of engine noise and normally, with modern installations, there is no noise linked to the movement of air.

Hello,
I am also planning to install a double-flow CMV coupled with a Canadian well on a new house in load-bearing stones and straw and earth insulation.
Attached, the link to a site that I found very interesting on the Canadian well:
http://www.fiabitat.com/puits-canadien.php
As far as noise issues are concerned, I think you have to really take care of the installation and apply the principles of sound insulation as much as possible (see Jean-Louis Beaumau's book "Sound insulation").
For my part, I will make sure that no sheath is connected to each other ie that a sheath goes from one room to the VMC directly without being connected to another room. I will also make sure that the VMC is in a well soundproofed room and is installed on silent blocks to avoid noise due to vibrations.
Good luck.

merci pour vos réponses.
Finally, I decided for the Helios equipment because the heat exchanger is disengageable in summer, which allows to cool with the Canadian well.
In addition, they have a room that allows you to increase the air supply and light a stove or a fireplace.
If all goes well, with two hours of stove heating per day, we will heat the house all winter.

To combat noise, there are some things to watch out for:
- VMC double flow in a room if possible far from living rooms.
- Provide an air flow in relation to the sizing of the well and the VMc to limit the air speed.
- Limit the air flow rate at the outlet of the aeration nozzles in the various rooms for normal operation (reminder, the law provides for 1/3 of the volume of air to be renewed per hour)
In the worst case there is the possibility of putting silencers on the ventilation network. Logically if it is well sized, these silencers are not necessary.

In Périgord with all the wood thrown away
In the Périgord with all the wood thrown around, I would take the pure and hard ecological heating with wood and not the heat pump which pushes to build new EPR nuclear power stations which are likely to make us a Chernobyl in France sooner or later because nuclear cannot be infallible in perpetuity !!!
Ecolo as much as possible, it's not a heat pump even with a Canadian well.
To choose or to favor nuclear electricity whereas one has the choice, it is to approach a Chernobyl in France !!!

One day, an unthinkable nuclear accident will occur in France and it will evacuate an entire region in one night to avoid coming back for centuries, even millennia!
We have come close to such accidents already !!!

To read
To read this report too:

The greenest possible is not the lie of the electric heat pump of nuclear origin !!!
But the wood heating recovering all the plants discarded and neglected at present or wind or solar.
In Périgord full of wood, the heat pump is perfectly useless !!!

for noise, what I installed at home, does not cause any problems, - but it is a "home" installation with two recovered fan coils
in general the noise level is 45 db for new, that is to say the noise of a fly that flies (barely audible) a threshold to hear nothing is 40, 42 db to 35 you hear your heart beat but impossible to reach without special room

every morning you look naked in a large ice after 3 minutes you will see that your home and your worst picture ......
Excuse me, I haven't read with enough care
Excuse me, by reading again, I realize that you do not install a heat pump, unlike others, but just a VMC double flow and therefore you are very good green.
I apologize for my error, but nevertheless if you do not know nuclear, read these sites, they are exact documents irrefutable very worrying. Radioactive pollution is found everywhere in France, like Limousin or south of Paris near Saclay, but not in Périgord as far as I know.
Finally, the ecological peak is in addition to the Canadian well which uses the average heat over a year stored in the earth, it is to store the heat of summer (thermal solar of beautiful surface) in the earth in depth (a few meters ) and reuse it in winter, then any conventional heating becomes useless, with the earth at more than 30 ° C.
On the internet I saw some info but it is not common, but if you have room, you can try with solar thermal water heaters which send their heat into the earth in sufficient depth and reversing in winter. Instead of the solar water heater, the earth is heated deep instead of the water heater, roughly.

Hello,
I just installed an Atlantic Duolix VMC DF. I am very satisfied with it and I have no problem with noise.
I used the sound trap in diam 125 supplied with the group and also the 2 sound traps supplied as an option and to be mounted directly at the group outlet. I also put a sound trap in diam 80 just before each mouth of insufflation.
I also suspended the group to avoid transmissions of vibration to the wall.
PS: my network is in galvanized pipe of diameter 125.
