Ah! , Brita and other filter cartridges are far from providing the equivalent of mineral water, on the contrary even since they soften the water by removing suspended ions (calcium and minerals); not to mention that these cartridges do not disinfect the water either, the ideal would be that they filter pollutants, disinfect without more, but not soften.

So, yes for waste reduction (although these are recyclable)
No for water quality
