Who has cats?

by moketa » 06/08/09, 20:14

I have 3 cats. A European raised in an apartment, basically, so she comes in to go to her litter box. An Oriental, so in winter it stays in most of the time. A Sphinx (hairless), therefore, as long as it is not 20 degrees, it does not go out ... And living in Belgium ... Well it's not often, eh!

So, in my fight against my waste, a very big problem arose: the litter.

I looked for a solution for 2 years ... And I found !!!!

There is an organic litter at Carrefour. It is the Carrefour brand precisely. It's called Eco planet. The bag is plastic and green.

Advantages: its price - 1,79 euros in Belgium. I use a bag every 2 weeks for 3 cats instead of a classic bag per week and more expensive.
The pellet aspect is less dirty.
Its light side and during the transport of bags and when changing the litter.
You can dump the litter in your garden, it's wood!
It can be used as a fertilizer for the garden or to protect trees from frost.
Since I no longer pour the litter into a trash bag, I cut my waste in half ... And the garbage collectors thank me ... The litter is heavy!
The litter is naturally very deodorizing ... It smells like new wood!

Disadvantages: fairly quickly, the pellets turn into wood chips ... So you have to change often ...
We only sell at Carrefour ...
I have one cat in three who moderately appreciated ... Some accidents ... I had to take action, it got back to normal.
If you live in an apartment, it is difficult to do, the litter does not disintegrate very quickly ... So, you need a place to dump it with impunity ...

However, if I had to take stock, I would not change anything in the world of litter. I have ground. And so I have more advantages than disadvantages to having changed the litter ...

Try the pellets for heating.
better quality and cheaper.
Being more dense these pellets disintegrate less quickly and
absorb more fluids.
It is possible to improve the technique by using a
macon (in plastic) in a 90 l PVC pan. Shavings
desagrege pellets pass through the sieve, thus keeping the litter
free of wet chips.
The sieves being made of steel, it is necessary to plan to replace the trellis after
+ - 3 months with a stainless steel trellis or replace the sieve (but this is
already more expensive to use). You have to empty the bowl once a week
basically, especially in hot weather in winter it lasts twice as long
This does not prevent the droppings from being removed
or twice a day. By doing so the pellets are used until
last with minimal waste.
