How to count the production of a wind turbine?

by darwenn » 28/07/09, 18:52

Hello, maybe I'm going to ask a silly question but voila. I am in the process of making a wind turbine for my personal use and I would have liked to know if there was a trick, an electronic assembly or other to count the energy produced, each day in cumulative. Is there something that allows you to do this? directly at 12v output from the wind turbine and not from the 220V inverter ?.

Well at 230V output you have a lot of choice as energy meters on the market ...

Example: Brennenstuhl's latest model https://www.econologie.com/shop/compteur ... p-299.html

In 12 V you will have more trouble finding something: personally I have never seen it but you can possibly imagine hacking a 230V meter ...?

But pkoi do you want to put yourself on 12V because what counts is the "useful" energy ... unless you have a use in 12V directly?

Let's say that as the inverter can work even if the wind turbine does not rotate (via the batteries), I will not really have the production of the wind turbine itself but that of the inverter if I count as output from that this. I wanted to measure what the wind turbine produces directly. Finally yes the meter of which you speak, in addition it is not expensive, will be able to suit me, in one way or another I will have all the same an indication of the electricity which I produce. Thank you :)

If you have no consumption in 12V, it has, in my opinion, no interest to measure on the 12V since what matters is what is produced in 230V.

The efficiency of the inverter must therefore be included. A bit like I did on our solar bike charger: https://www.econologie.com/forums/recharge-s ... t7990.html

Is your inverter pure or modified sine?

I don't know if these tap meters work well with the modified sines ...

Oh, I can't tell you. This is the model
http://cgi.ebay.fr/Convertisseur-ondule ... 7C294%3A50

But yes finally it will be very good to measure the energy consumed at the output of the inverter. With this plug for example, even less expensive.

If I put it out of the inverter it should work.

The ebay link is out of date.

It should be noted on pure sinus or not.

If it is not, do not try the velleman counter socket because I have "burnt" one on a not pure sine inverter ...

Christophe

I have two and it is my pure sinus which burns the chopping chargers and the other which is not pure sinus works well.

In fact, you will never be able to simply measure the "productive" energy, but only the energy consumed (by your network or by your battery

Oops I had not seen your answers, thank you.

In my inverter doc, it says Modified Sine Wave. So he is not pure.
