Food is included? yes, so why is there an equipped kitchen?

As I see in the photos, this is an apartment in the very heart of a luxury home.

I will ask my sweetie how does this kind of establishment work and what could justify the amount of charges.
(FYI, my sweet is infi in home care specializing in geriatrics and nursing home management. So she has an interest in knowing how to answer me, if not more kiss for 24h : Mrgreen: )

This kind of price is quite common in Brussels, it's not even the best.

It's not that crazy: many elderly people (including my mother-in-law who is "only" a widow of a private engineer) have a pension of 1500 euros and more. If you add the income from sums invested, such as pension savings, share contribution, rent, etc. .. it is quite feasible.

900 € charges for a medical residence, it is not that expensive that I find because I imagine that it is a private establishment.

During the end of the year celebrations we had the joy and the happiness of hospitalizing our daughter urgently in a public hospital in France and the posted rate was 1200 € / day "just" for hospitalization.
To this must be added the care, the perf, the analyzes ...

As for the 800 € for 80m², I do not know the prices of real estate in Belgium but this can also not be surprising.
The main question I ask myself is "does a single elderly person need 80 m² ??" it must be something like 3 bedrooms or the living room is a ballroom.

80m2 in Belgium is not that big! Real estate is cheaper than in France.

These apartments are not necessarily reserved for one person.
Besides, it would be rather reserved for couples!

I allowed myself to move the subject to Economy and finance which seems to me more appropriate.

I begin to understand...
I had my sister on tel, she works in the "social" in Brussels
His answer is simple:
She tells me that some "little old people" can afford social services at 2000 euros in the sense that the mutual company intervenes for 1000 euros each month in their costs : Shock:
We are good in Belgium :D
