Ecology and economy

Hello,
I am preparing my diploma in architecture DPLG on the following subject: Ecology Economy: an understanding for domestic architecture.
I chose this subject because I currently have a project manager activity (since I am not yet an architect) or the concept of budget is omnipresent in the design of individual houses ... which is normal, but which however, calls into question the investment in principle of saving energy or using healthy materials for the project. Hence the notion of compromise which seems interesting to me in the approach of the project ...
I'm not sure how to develop these notions. how to complete my project?
anyone with ideas or comments?
