TATA car tire - Guy Negro

View elephant » 30/01/14, 10:17

I'm creating this topic because the pneumatic car topic has been locked.

The Indian car manufacturer Tata motors announces the release of its pneumatic cart for 2014 on the Indian market.

FYI, Tata is still a big manufacturer of 4X4, owner of Jaguar and Land Rover

http://cgtinergygroupeplasticomnium.ove ... cette-info

a "full" at a specially equipped petrol station would cost around 1,50 euros for 300 km. Nothing prevents, of course, to have a small compressor at home

Debates are open, in particular on the weight of the air necessary for this autonomy:

It is indeed an elegant way to store electrical energy, but does it work?

On the other hand, the general manager of Tata committed suicide in Bangkok 2 days ago, but the doubt about the suicide still remains, although a letter has been found, his wife being "too shocked" to answer.
So: was he annoying someone or did he make a phenomenal mistake?

Or € 0,5 per 100 km (even in town!). It is very very interesting.

But how is it that there is such a difference with the cost of inflating diving tanks? For 20 liters at 200 bars we are already at 8 € so how much would it cost to inflate 90 liters to 300 bars?

Probably a matter of scale.

Inflating diving tanks requires perfect air, free of oil and concerns a few "happy few" for their leisure time in our regions.

For a car, you can have oil, it's even desirable and you can imagine that, if it works, it will turn. And in addition, it is in India where people work for the photo of a grain of rice at the end of the month, whereas with us, you have to pay them.

The price I gave is that of inflation with ordinary air. It is ambient air filtered with activated carbon (Triplex filter).

Ah, and how come they do better than Guy Négre who has never managed to achieve this autonomy of 300 km?

I am very skeptical.

I believe that 300km is by heating the air at the outlet of the tank.

Another link for the price of compressed air, I specify that it is ambient air:

http://gonflage.chez-alice.fr/index_fic ... age348.htm

There is a formula which gives the cost of inflating a 90 liter bottle to 300 bars as for Guy Nègre's car:

Air rate = € 0,002 per liter * final pressure * block capacity in liters.

So 0,002 * 300 * 90 or € 54!

54 €! And for what autonomy?
