Uber, green transportation taxi why are so bad?

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

chatelot16 wrote:the state made taxi pay overpriced licenses: only one solution to reimburse these stupid license to put the taxi on a par!

Taxi parking permits are issued by the municipalities and departmental taxi commissions FOR FREE.

It is those who owned these "places" who sold them with their "goodwill" by presenting their successor to the mayor of the town.
namely the "bought" places can always be sold if they have been exploited but henceforth the places allocated free of charge can no longer in any case be sold to a successor. The places are returned to the town hall and recedées to an applicant on the waiting list ...

Taxis are not taxed more than other tradesmen; they even receive a TIPP discount that VTCs do not. On the other hand, annual check of the "taximeter" and of the car every year. with in some cities the vehicle length requirements ...

the problem of taxis is not the same in all countries ... there are places where taxis are numerous and at reasonable prices

in France it is too expensive too rare: bad service!

this expensive license system is bad

uber is a detail

if taxis had to look for equality problems, they would have to compare more with buses: urban buses are all subsidized, even if the heaters pay normal social charges, the community finances!

for me taxis should be subsidized in the same proportion as public transport to serve as a supplement ... that we can take the bus when there is one and take the taxi when there is no bus without breaking the bank !

the more taxis would be numerous and well managed by a computer system like uber the more it would be efficient and greener than private cars

the state should stop overtaxing taxis and put in place a better system than uber pooling all available means of transport: carpool, cab, taxi

the uber computer system is not free, but it does not bring anything to France ... if the same system was made in France it could integrate a certain taxation and be perfectly legal

the state must build what it takes!

uber shows an effective solution: you have to model it to do the same

this future system should not be taxed too much to remain low-priced: low taxation should be seen as a subsidy to improving the ecological efficiency of transport

this kind of computer system can easily manage several levels of service: it will not be the same price with large luxury cars, and small low-end

taxis would earn a better living by having their place in this general system than by clinging to a privilege that will inevitably disappear

No.

You have to differentiate between VTC where the driver is a professional registered in a register and with a professional card and UberPop where the driver is an individual who does this to make ends meet.

it is the same problem as some craftsman! too taxed too

there are spots of public interest which are too expensive made by current craftsmen: the result is the impossibility of maintaining the accommodation properly, and the result is a big waste

the result is the same as for taxis: the craftsmen who do the job properly are too expensive, and moonlighting is the uber pop of the craftsmen

the solution is the same: state must tax less certain thing ... some will still say it's not the tax, it's the social charges ... precisely, it's these social charges that are bad: social security will have to be financed by other tax, and weigh only on those who have a legal job by favoring excessively those who bypass

Too expensive ... in indre et loire for example .. The hour of waiting or slow walking is charged 20 € 32 ca just covers the cost of staff at the hourly rate. And the km in charge 0 € 92 ... Knowing that the cost per meter of a 7hp vehicle is estimated by the French tax authorities at € 0 595 per km you have € 0.325 left to make your salary. that the taximeter goes into Km mode around 15km / h you can find in the most unfavorable case to generate 4 € 80 per hour of margin to pay the driver ... Without counting the support at 2 € and the minimum billing...

Parking permits are FREE ...

They are subsidized by the tax refund on fuel
chatelot16 wrote:more taxis would be numerous and well managed by a computer system

the more they couldn't make ends meet ...
and managed they are by geolocation and in economic interest grouping (in the big cities in countryside it is a little different)
chatelot16 wrote:the uber computer system is not free, but it does not bring anything to france ...

I join you above it would be necessary that Uber pays the same charges as the others for the hours worked

chatelot16 wrote:this kind of computer system can easily manage several levels of service: it will not be the same price with large luxury cars, and small low-end

There is also a lot to grind why pay the same price to ride in a 7 seater dacia logan at € 10900 and an audi a6 s line at € 65000

chatelot16 wrote:taxis would earn a better living by having their place in this general system than by clinging to a privilege that will inevitably disappear

I know the environment a little bit ... My brother is a taxi craftsman he bought 4 parking permits in the countryside, he mainly does assistance (markets that he conquered with endless days) of medical (which he manages the steering wheel of his car in just-in-time so that his employees do not run empty) a bit of transport of children "unsuitable for public transport" educated in specialized centers a bit of tourism and local transport ...
The two vehicles that drive the most (he and his wife) drive more than 120km / year ... He has had days of more than 000 hours of driving ... The on-board computers of his sedans were continuously ringing messages warning ...

Last week he had to take care of the shipwrecked people on the road 80km from his base for a journey of 820km (1640 round trip) ... It was 12 boxes of taxis closer than the assistance box called ...
I can guarantee you ... that when the mourners of the group of taxis of Tours complain about not making a living ... he shows them photos of the amount of his assistance races that they refused ... As in almost all the shops ... If you are serious that you want to give yourself the trouble to keep your commitments with a smile even if you run into madmen ... It works ... After a lot the race is played in cash and I declare a misery ... Him with his 3 employees..He has no choice he declares and rolls in the nails..The only thing he dreads is the establishment of a parking meter (reserved for large cities for now) his cars can run 24/24 ...

How much is this license?

Personally, living in a "socialist" country, I am against Uber.

1) what guarantees do we have that the vehicle:
- be properly insured as a taxi?
- piloted by a competent person
- steered by the person approved by the Uber network

2) expensive taxi .... sorry, it is difficult to invoice the minute of work under the 35 cents excluding VAT to which must be added the labor of the executives and dispatchers of the taxi company.

3) if you have to work 17 pm to have a good day, more agree: have you seen the unemployment rate? 17 p.m., it's a job for 2 people

4) I remember having once seen the roadmap of a provincial taximen (Charleroi, Belgium) on a Saturday around 16 p.m .: a quick calculation allowed me to calculate that it did not happen 50 euros taxable for the day. And he could pay for the garden light he had screwed up in his pocket. (I met the guy a few months later)

5) "big sedans". These cars are skillfully managed and all the benefit is financial as they are sold very young with a low devaluation. An accountant customer once explained to me how his Mercedes 4X4 cost his company less than a Renault Espace. In particular, no breakdown costs since they are recent and under warranty.

parking permits are issued for FREE then the owners resell them but it is FINISHED in France (except for those that were purchased but in the long term they will be taken over by town halls)

to be a taxi driver in France:
you must have passed professional ability to drive a taxi
this includes 4 "units of value"
2 national (one on the knowledge of the regulations plus road safety with a test of French and English optional level 3rd of college)
one of local regulations (pricing and regulations specific to the department) one of topographical knowledge of the department and calculation of race pricing
and a last driving with manipulation of the taximeter

the price of this exam, available as a free candidate, is around € 19 (i.e. € 19 x4) per unit of value plus the rental of a double-order taxi

To register, you must have undergone a medical examination (valid for 5 years) and have had the patience to fill out all the necessary paperwork ...
In addition to that you must not have been the subject of a retreat of 6 license points in a single offense
not having been sentenced to a sentence of 6 months or more for
narcotics law offense
harm to the person
fraud....

I passed it (or rather partially because I had a too low average score on the departmental part I was missing 0.33point)
this year ... it's not easy easy ...
Then you have to obtain a parking permit (either you buy one from a taxi which stops its activity if the regulations allow it to sell it) or you rent a "place" to an owner, or we make a request in town hall which consults the departmental taxis commission and grants it to you FREE of charge if the commission gives a favorable opinion ...
Then you need a vehicle equipped to standards and register with the commercial register .....
And don't count your hours ...

Uber responds to an instant request (and they put it on their home page) corresponding to the peak of activity in the profession (between 16 and 20 p.m.) the calculation of allocation of parking permits is made so that the x taxis of the department can live off their activity over a full time ... the reality of the request is quite different ...

Regarding the discount of vehicles I can give you an example ...
passat 140TDI 2011 bought new, resold in May 2015 to a merchant on occasion (they avoid reselling them to individuals who take advantage of the fact that they only have 4 years to make hacks of meters and fraud which tot or late fall back on them) with 310km on the odometer 000 € argus rating at 6000 ...

Yes in Paris it is common to resell parking permits at this price ...

For its 4 places in the rear my brother had to go out around 85000 € ... without equipped vehicle ...
