979 GB in 39 hours ... or 25 GB / h ... but logically we must remove the GB of cloning which is not a "standard" operation ... or 726 GB according to this capture: computer-electronic-electricity / quality-and-lifespan-of-ssd-slc-mlc-tlc-qlc-t16876-50.html # p449646
253/39 = 6.5 GB / h ... I'll beat you down!
Well I would do the test again when I have 130 hours like you!

There were already 22 hours, so 253/17 = 14.88 GB / hChristophe wrote:979 GB in 39 hours ... or 25 GB / h ... but logically we must remove the GB of cloning which is not a "standard" operation ... or 726 GB according to this capture: computer-electronic-electricity / quality-and-lifespan-of-ssd-slc-mlc-tlc-qlc-t16876-50.html # p449646

Still 7 to 10 times more than me.
HWinfo gives me an average of 2GB / h, suddenly, I wonder if it is really true to reality?
What does HD sentinel give?

Re: Clone a system hard drive to Crucial MX500 SSD (review, test ...)?
Ah yes ... you're right, sorry! I had forgotten that he had already shot that much for the cloning ... which only took 3h30 ...
SMART data is more precise because it is hardware, HDs is software that only works under Windows ... HDs does not count the boot for example. Anyway it would be interesting to compare between 2 boot the 2 types of data, just to see what a boot consumes! Logically a boot is more read than write ...
To answer your question :
HDs gives me 292 GB of data written since the installation, that is to say since I booted on it ten days ago ... or 30 GB / d ...
To have 256 TBW I will need 8500 days ...
Since I booted 1h30 ago I wrote 5.9 GB ... or 4 GB per hour ...
To have 256 TBW I will need 64 h ... or 000 days at 8500 h / h ... that's consistent!
In both cases there is room!
After that depends what you do with your PC and also how the paging file is configured. For the moment I have not touched anything at this level ...
I have the TRIM function activated ... maybe this is also playing?

1,97 GB / h (write), my M2 after 3142 hours of operation.
1,79 GB / h (write) the 980 Pro after 1471 hours of operation.

So 2 GB / h seems to be the "norm"?
Or I must be more active on my mouse than you, quite simply!

I don't have much ... but Malwarebytes yes I think it is quite greedy since it scans the system at each boot ... but it does more read than write ... But we are talking about write there. ..
