Grelinette wrote:I'm reactivating this topic because I have a question for the ULM specialists:

How many ULM type aircraft are there in France?

Does anyone have an idea of the number or a way to get this information? (perhaps by the number of clubs in France)

please

(I'll explain later why I'm asking this question)

Found statistics here: http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.f ... AERAL.html

1500 ULM it still does little but that's what is stated on AERAL ... the figures of the ULM federations will be more precise.

What was the question for? :?: : Cheesy:

CLASS 6 HELICO ULM WAS BORN THURSDAY 23 FEBRUARY 2012
After long years of laborious negotiations, the supervisory authority has finally recognized the ultralight helicopter category subject to the same weight constraints as the other ultralights: total loaded weight 300 kg for single-seaters and 450 kg for two-seaters (not included) parachute or floats)
Fall into this category. :
- the Canadian single-seater Mosquito (150 kg unladen, two-stroke engine 60 hp)

- the Italian C77 Ranabot side-by-side two-seater (derived from the famous tandem two-seater C7 Kompress) 280 kg unladen, Rotax 914 115 hp engine, very precise control:

and that, in your opinion it falls into which categories?

The Flying Moto:

and even a child can drive it:

If the concept develops and improves it will be really practical!

good news !

autogyros have long been proof that it was possible to make small helicopters ... now we will have the right to manufacture and sell small helicopters

prefers the real helicopter with main rotor and anti torque ... the double rotary counter rotor is too serious when the 2 propellers touch ... and in a reduced model it's not uncommon

since the time that real helicopters work, we can believe that the right solution has been found: making them small in the ulm category is really interesting!

the helicopter is not worth much to make the distance it is better a real plane ... but the helicopter can take off everywhere without much space! it's even better with a very small one, and in addition these small helicopters are less bulky than planes! really beautiful toy!

Not so sure !

This Sunday there was an open day of the Eurocoptère de Marignane company http://www.laprovence.com/article/a-la- ... -personnes with a presentation in flight of their aircraft, in particular the last one, the X3 fitted with propellers on small side wings in addition to the rotor.
This prototype should make it possible to validate this helicopter concept with less paddle area for more speed and keep the takeoff vertical:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AJmG-vktoA

In any case, the helicopter flight demonstrations were very spectacular, including looping demonstrations with helicopters!

I add an amusing anecdote: there was on the site of demonstration of flights of models of helicopters of which the famous Tiger (which makes front and rear looping without difficulty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-l6Jx88IWg) with a demonstration of a model of a Tiger flying upside down in hover: the pale ones below and the skates above!

you have to be realistic: a helicopter consumes more power anyway to fly than a good plane with large wings

to be economical it must have a rotor as large as possible to turn slower

I know this new helicopter with 2 airplane propellers to move faster like an airplane ... and without anti torque behind

the interest of the ULM helicopter is to take off anywhere like a real helicopter ... looking for speed performance I do not see much interest, anyway it will not make a long means of transport distance

This is the old dream, but the Belgian Minister of the Interior wants even drones to take off ONLY from approved places ....

Which amounts to prohibiting the use of microdrones controlled by iphone, in fact ....
