If anyone is interested, I have a little book on The Vehicle of the Future.
It is a Report of the Academy of Technologies of 2012.
We can turn it around for fans of the issue to see how our scientific elites had studied this issue in 2012.

The vehicle of the future for the city will be either a véture or a voilo, or both at the same time:

25 km / h on cycle paths.
60 km / h on roads.

light motorized 2-wheel-3 wheel concepts, more or less streamlined, we have had a plethora of them.

to be a bad language, you could say that it combines the disadvantages of a motorcycle and a bicycle and a cart. : Mrgreen:

I am quite skeptical, it may be a small part of the solution, if there is a solution to the paradox of concentrating millions of people in a concrete space and far too limited to allow the decongestion of traffic areas, whatever the mode considered.

For example, even the subway platforms are crowded, so let's not imagine these people surrounded by a big bike ...

Their thing won't solve the parking problem, that's what struck me ... It's the main problem in town. Instead of deploying a hardtop from rear to front, I would have deployed the vehicle width-wise (with telescopic wheel axles) the body deploying like a folding of black carbon fiber panels (deployment inspired by the 'origami)

Around a core consisting of the driver's seat mounted in, and protected by, a double aluminum hoop ...
The vehicle would then take no more space than a bike parked on a sidewalk ... And it would deploy automatically thanks to small hydraulic jacks (which would also act as a suspension)

One of their sketches could be an embryo of that and made me think of it (too bad ...)

There would hardly be that the roof and the floor to unfold (or inflate) the walls of the left and right side flanks, would remain parallel throughout the operation. Approaching or moving away to complete the unfolding of the volume of the body - by sliding sideways - such as two sections in the form of an aerodynamic hull ... small telescopic pins) to protect the battery, engine, driver's seat, airbags and on-board electronics ... or against the double roll bar (and unless this is the role of the latter.)

Ah ... no, not really, I hadn't thought about it. We have the easy project in a family of “inventors”, must say ... : Cheesy:

I am thinking rather of the simplest possible “accordion” type deployment concept.
Besides, the idea of telescopic axes is an unnecessary complication, and can be simplified in the form of folding arms.
Come to think of it, at the front - to place the legs - the vehicle doesn't have to be very wide (maybe like a 3-wheel scooter) so there's only the rear to deploy, hinges may be sufficient ...

It is puzzling, but the idea would above all be to resolve the issue of parking in the city, nothing else. : roll:
