The Segway Patroller at Milipol

The days when the police were driving were over. Since 2008, the Nice municipal police have had six Segway branded Segways, gyro-stabilized individual electric transporters on two wheels. Several brigades, even foreign ones, have shown their enthusiasm for this type of transport.
The company therefore sought to perfect it to make it even faster and more functional. The Patroller was born and will be presented at the 16th Milipol exhibition dedicated to the internal security of States, which will be held from 17 to 20 November.
Used for piloting, traffic or pollution control missions, the Patroller Segway will be equipped with a large handlebar bag, front and rear lighting with rotating beacon, a front shock absorber and an anti-theft system with three levels of protection. So many features that will allow brigades to act more quickly and discreetly.
From a functional point of view, the Patroller, equipped with lithium-ion batteries, raises the agent by 25 cm, has a range of 40 km and can reach a top speed of 20 km / h. In daily use, it consumes only 0,25 euro per 100 km or less than 30 euros of electricity per year (on a basis of 30 km traveled per day). "Which makes it the most economical and environmentally friendly mass-produced motorized vehicle in the world," says Segway. Remains its price which can refrain purchases: 7 euros including tax.
A segway does not replace the car or even the bike, it simply replaces ... walking! And € 7500 is expensive instead ... not even seated! How many thousand km by metro?
There were not enough obese and overweight problem before in our societies ... Have you seen wall-e? Because it reminds me of that ...
With these segways I think we found the biggest Greenwasher of the year!
