Ecology Trophy for the Audi R8, five times winner of 24 hours of Le Mans
The Audi R8, five times winner of 24 hours of Le Mans, just received a new award. At the headquarters of the Automobile Club de France, Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport, was awarded the 'Award of Ecology' for the winning Audi R8 last 24 hours of Le Mans. The outcomes were the fuel consumption during the race, the weight of the vehicle, its average speed lap and the engine noise. With the TFSI technology (gasoline direct injection), the three Audi R8 participating in the competition this year have placed the first three places in this ranking.

Such a trophy is simply a shame as well as the ecodesign prize for Renault!

Industrial and large financial want to protect and perpetuate their polluting activities. Their strategy is simple: promote activities that pollute the least (without specifying that it was point).
Put the words ecology or synonym is a good advertising pledge.
Example, If I consume 30 liters at 100 km and I go down to 25 liters at 100 km, for it is a positive ecological balance even if it is still not acceptable for the environment.

For once the competition brings something to the car of Mr. All-the-world (well almost, it remains Audi, so expensive ... ), Which is very common nowadays in contrast to the end of the last century, it does not seem to me totally incongruous to develop, although the term "Trophy of Ecology" is badly chosen. ..

Waw what innovation given that the Spitfire and Messerschmitt was equipped with gasoline direct injection in 1942 ...
Ok it was less sharp than bcp electronisée gasoline direct injection current but when you see the results of renault petrol injection (for example) both in terms of pollution and consumption (11L / 100 for space) one wonders or is the progress! .... that's why manufacturers have returned backwards and soon abandoned this technology ...

Gasoline engines were somewhat neglected in recent years as the demand on the Diesel was very strong, requiring large technological progress.
However, many manufacturers (include VAG, BMW and Alfa-Romeo) is taken over the technical improvement of gasoline and one should see as little time in the series productions benefit from this research, including direct injection .. .

To ridicule and if you are so smarter than me, we think yields had direct injection + injection water 2ieme GM (I have managed to find by these numbers just like those for water injection WRC) and compares them with current yields direct gasoline injection ...

I never said that direct injection had never been mass produced ... It's even quite old because we find these power systems on the Mercedes SL 300 1955.
I just do not mix the few recent models (Renault Megane 2,0I ide, Mitsubishi with 1,8l) that have already been produced, and which aimed at the lean operation with what is done now.
