New Renault Symbol, 3,5 L / 100km

by Christophe » 22/09/08, 18:57

New Renault Symbol: only 3,15 l / 100 km (85 g CO2 / km) during the Renault Symbol Eco-Challenge.

Renault's desire is to develop ecological and economical cars * all over the world and for all markets. The New Renault Symbol thus incorporates economy in use in its genes.

Demonstration made during the Renault Symbol Eco-Challenge organized in Turkey. On arrival, the New Renault Symbol 1.5 dCi 85hp has a consumption of only 3,15l / 100km (85g of CO2 / km), which represents a total range of 1700 km. This new saloon covered the 1430km of the course with only 45 liters of fuel. These results were produced under the supervision of a bailiff and certified by an independent measurement organization.

* develop yes ... market no. A little reminder of history: https://www.econologie.com/renault-vesta ... -3752.html

Comparison of consumption (of gasoline in L / 100km) in 1987 !!

- at 70 km / h: Vesta: 1,75 L / 100, Supercinq: 3,65 L / 100
- At maximum speed: Vesta 2: 3,70 to 138,2 km / h, Supercinq: 8,90 to 143,2 km / h

For what chapo Greg?

The 1987 vesta at 3.7L of petrol at 100 or the 2008 symbol at 3.5L at Diesel at 100? Where's the performance?

ps: the symbol is actually a 1/2 clone of the Logan ... I don't really understand the interest of this new model ...

Ok for consumption performance but I think the driving pleasure of the Renault Symbol is much higher!

Certainly but we bet that at 138km / h it does worse than the Vesta? :?:

Too bad we don't have average speed in the Renault .pdf ...

Yes, this is indeed a serious data gap.
Without average speed, there is no point of comparison worthy of the name.

From what I understand the test conditions do not have the same or well?
Vesta: stabilized speed consumption on the circuit?
Symbol: consumption in real traffic conditions?

The conditions are not the same.

Besides, if we wanted cu (l) ter hair, the only way to have identical conditions is to work in the lab ... 8)

Hey don't look for the little beast: there is especially 20 years of difference between the 2 and 2 engine of completely different design since the Vesta was equipped with an ESSENCE engine ...

But the Vesta weighed 50% of the weight of the symbol ...

Question: what are these kg used for? Ah "security" you will tell me?

And the 17 DEAD PER YEAR IN FRANCE THROUGH INDUSTRIAL TERRORISM that is the POLLUTION of transport? What's this? Isn't that security?

However, the Vesta has never been sold and no one knows why!
