You are lucky that the car does not go into safety. On a friend's Audi A4 (already a few years old), she went into safety (limited speed) for a brake light bulb!

The supplier could be honest enough to provide a checklist of things to check yourself before going to the garage: do you imagine that the morning of the day you hit 1200 km to go on vacation?

There is also the solution of having the cord and the diag software to do it yourself ... I have this for several cars..This speaks in a few minutes..And a few hundred € saved ...

it will become essential indeed. My brother bought it for his C4 and it has already saved him several hundreds of € (just to pay for fugitive faults in stupid sensors)

I thought (for having done a year of evening classes in automotive electronics) that this kind of device was worth 5000 euros without counting the software updates.

I also believed it to be an elephant ... but I thought I heard that there was PC software so to plug into a simple laptop, you just need the cable so ...

Macro will tell us more!

ps: I looked at the ABS sensors, I saw nothing (no damaged cable or dirt ...)

but there is a plethora of choice ... choose a cord and an app capable of communicating with all the calculos of the beast (count depending on the brand between 75 and 400 € for a professional tool) ...

Nice surprise.

Technically, there was, in fact, no reason in terms of hardware.
Now, it is normal that the software has a cost: sometimes twenty software for the same model ....

Be aware that some nations have hacking / hacking champions. And the fact that a car manufacturer sells its software the skin of the bottom does not prevent at all certain clever little ones (very often Russians) to make their own software themselves.
If the use of such unofficial software is undoubtedly illegal for a dealer (professional use) it can be of great service to an individual who repairs his car himself and for himself.
