A solar powered airship presented at Paris Air Show

by Lietseu » 15/06/09, 16:31

Here it is the machine of the future, we had already talked about it between us, it's official, ingenious people will relaunch this machine, which no longer presents the danger of yesteryear helium having replaced - very advantageously - hydrogen ... : Cheesy:

here is the link to read for the ceusss it interests as said in Brussels!

Meow, soon a slower air travel, certainly, but how much more pleasant and above all non-polluting !!!

Meow!

Cute student project! :P

As for the sustainable project ... it's a nice hogwash. Since the time that airships have existed, they have not found their place in aeronautics .... because they do not have one. An airship has an airship only by name even with powerful engines, so with a few square meters of PV cell they are not ready to face normal climatic conditions with wind. It is a false good idea / publicity that comes out every 2 or 4 years : Mrgreen:

a helium airship is a financial and ecological abyss! no envelope is perfectly waterproof, and it must be kept inflated with helium, even when it does not fly

when it is necessary to advance an airship it consumes more energy than any plane of the same payload

one might think that the airship has the advantage of being able to land anywhere, but the problem is not the place to land but the hangar to protect it, otherwise it will be demolished by the strong wind

The Airlander 10 airship reveals its extraordinary measurements

By Astrid Gouzik Usine Nouvelle on March 22, 2016,

SLIDE SHOW VIDEO The British company Hydrid Air Vehicles has officially presented its Airlander 10, the largest aircraft in the world.

It is a press release in the form of an announcement: "Hybrid Air Vehicles is happy to announce the end of the assembly of the Airlander". The aircraft with oversized measurements was presented for the first time on Monday March 21. With its 92 meters long, it greatly exceeds the 73 meters of the A380 and the 71 of the B787. Assembly of the Airlander 10 was completed "on time and on budget," said the British company.

The Airlander-10 makes its first exit from the hangar!

World's Largest Aircraft is the Airlander 10 airship and it has left its hanger

August 09

The world's largest aircraft, known fondly as the 'Flying Bum', left its hangar for the first time today.

The Airlander 10, which cost £ 25million to build over 10 years, is 92 meters long and pumped with a million cubic feet of helium.

The part-plane, part-airship left its hangar in Cardington, Bedfordshire at 4am today to begin a brief series of ground systems tests before its first flight later this month.

The 302-feet-long craft was originally developed as part of a US Army project which was then abandoned in 2012
A British company has converted the aircraft - a cross between an airship and an airplane - for civilian use
It will fly to 4,000 feet at speeds of up to 46 mph in a series of six test flights above Cardington, Bedfordshire
The 'Flying Bum' can carry 48 passengers and is designed to be flown by remote control for up to three weeks

As ridiculous and unnecessary as solar plane psychiatrist or pseudo concept because of the crooks at VW ...

When we think of all that could have been done well with the fortunes spent on this crap ... it is breathtaking.
