Plug-in Hybrids: info

by Christophe » 30/11/09, 12:15

A TV video and a radio program on pluggable hyrbids on the network:

Bonjour à tous

For your information, here are two shows in which I participated, which talk about plug-in hybrids and Pierre Couture's wheel-motor traction group. The links allow you to listen to these broadcasts.

Discovery show on Radio-Canada, Sunday November 22, 2009:

2. Isabelle show in the morning at 98,5 FM, November 26, 2009

In addition, I would like to draw your attention to a new website, that of Trens Quebec, where you can watch a video of the monorail suspended at high speed with wheel motors offered by Pierre Couture.

ps: I will archive these 2 files

Too strong anyway: the guy from the video made his own hybrid series with a small snowblower engine in the trunk bracnhé on a generator!

In short, he made a Cleanova but without the millions of manufacturers! And above all, it drives every day with it (ask me how it does it) and consumes 2L / 100 of fuel (petrol a priori). The electric consumption is not given but given the size of the car and the lead-acid batteries, it must not be very good reported in Primary energy.

What should we learn from this? That no manufacturer is able to do the same but some will certainly find them very good excuses! : Evil:

Then we talk about Pierre Couture wheel motor: https://www.econologie.com/moteur-roue-p ... -3976.html

I recently saw a movie about it ... I am going to make it a new subject!

Hey I think about it: citro what prevents you from putting a small generator in the trunk of your 106 electric and recharging the batteries while driving (if possible?)?

Just to see what it does in terms of performance?

You should "just" make an evacuation for the exhaust and open the ventilation when the engine is running and pull some cables ...

We also think about it very seriously ... : Arrowu:
I am not repeating for nothing that the solution is the series hybrid. :P

I have long known the work of Alain St-Yves and I have repeatedly cited this work on this forum, as well as its site The Green Vehicle.

Our project consists in creating a direct current generator providing the same voltage as that of the batteries. This voltage is variable depending on the vehicles from 120 to 160V at PSA but other voltages exist on the clio and kangoo.

By the way, the "hybrid" Kangoo marketed by Renault to which I often refer is not a true series hybrid ...
Renault has succeeded in degrading its performance by preventing the batteries from being charged while driving ... When the on-board generator is triggered, the latter supplies ONLY THE ENGINE and the excess electricity not consumed by the engine does not recharge the batteries.

The reason for this surprising feature ... is administrative ... :|
This architecture allowed to homologate the kangoo Electro Road in an electric vehicle and not in a hybrid vehicle like a Prius.

I know someone who has tried to change the configuration of the Electro Road so that it can recharge the batteries with excess energy not consumed by the electric traction motor ... He did not succeed. The range extender is controlled by the computer to supply only the electric motor. When it is in operation, you can hear its speed very well adapt to the engine load

Ah great, well come here Citro, we made you a special subject: https://www.econologie.com/forums/106-electr ... t8853.html

Funny I would have said the opposite !! Going through the batteries you are more electric than hybrid !! Finally the administrations ...
