You can make yourself with 2 power diodes available from Conrad but you have to isolate your cooler.

You should put the wires as big as the alternator output wires.

On petrol if you cut the battery the engine still works, it
is powered by the alternator, this is the best way to know if
the alternator is good. : Idea:

you will need lots of photovoltaic cells.
an alternator is around 40 A I believe, 40A and 12V with photovoltaic cells ...
