To collect particles that are less representative of what the exhaust spits out, the filter mesh should be tightened.

For example, these exhaust gases could be cooled to limit them to around 150 ° for example before passing them through a mesh filter of a few microns. It would also require a large filtering surface so as not to influence the carburetion too much with too great a pressure drop.

I did a new tissue test on the clio as before without doping, it is identical to the other two. : Shock:

Cleanup engine doped steam engine only in charge?

Handkerchief test inconclusive with engine idling, or my steam supply with my blower in the previous tests was really too high.

The EGR (if there is, my clio is 95) may produce enough steam, but corrupted carbon dioxide steam. Does it work at idle?

Indeed, virtually all those who have noticed a doping effect found with a motor in charge.

Why corrupt? CO2 may be better than O2 for reducing NOx. The only flaw I find in the exhaust gases is that they trap the intake ducts (and that it may be necessary to ensure that they are not too hot when they arrive in the intake ). : Mrgreen:

doping with water vapor

Hi,

It is by reading the composition of a drug that I found an interesting component of antifreeze: propylene glycol
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propyl%C3%A8ne_glycol

because significantly less harmful than etylene glycol.

Interesting to put in the water of a bubbler because very high boiling point of propylene glycol compared to alcohol.

The left is the one doped with steam.

Hey ! you have very dirty underpants : Cheesy:

More seriously, the rag test is done on an identical course of approximately 20km, and approximately at the same speeds.

The dimensions of the fabrics (cotton only) cut in the same piece should be around 40x40cm for small cubic sizes, to allow a perfect seal around the edge, which does not seem to have been the case with your test on the right

If you don't have improved combustion, it's because you don't have the right flow of water vapor

ELUCUBRATIONS TO BE CONFIRMED:
FYI, on the blue flame burner, I recycle around 30% of the burnt gases, around 80% of nitrogen + 10% of CO2 + 10% of H2O

With this comparison, we can reasonably estimate that at least 3% of water vapor / volume of air is required by volume.

on an average of 2500rpm at half load 4-stroke engine 1400cc (3L), the air flow would be around
1.4 / 2x (2500/60) x1 / 2 = 14.5L / s or 52m3 / h of air at 20 ° C
The water vapor flow should be around 14.5x0.03 = 0.43L / s or 1.5m3 / h i.e. 1.5L / h of water

So why not create a by-pass with an adjustment valve between the exhaust and the intake for a first test?
an EGR valve what :D

For the "interpretation" of the rag. We can also say, the more water there is in the exhaust gases, the more the particles stick to the fabric.

This does not mean that more particles have been produced, but that almost all of the particles which escape between the meshes of the fabric are less inefficiently recovered. : Mrgreen:

EH Mac Fly!

So put a cloth on your exhaust and you will see that even without steam injection it is immediately wet :D

Chai not what you think, but you can maybe put a diagram or a photo ... : Mrgreen:
