Peak of pollution with nitrogen dioxide in Clermont-Ferrand
The 19 / 12 / 2007 to 15: 42
A peak of nitrogen dioxide pollution was recorded Wednesday on the agglomeration of Clermont-Ferrand, announced the Association for the measurement of atmospheric pollution of Auvergne (Atmo Auvergne).
Nitrogen dioxide concentrations of 206, 210 and 244 micrograms per cubic meter of air were recorded late Wednesday morning, translating "widespread pollution in the Clermont-Ferrand / Issoire / Riom region", indicates Atmo Auvergne, in a press release.
"The accumulation of this pollutant, mainly from cars, and other primary pollutants like suspended particles, was favored by the anti-cyclonic conditions which limited the dispersion ", underlines the press release.
Sensitive populations are recommended to avoid all intense physical activity and motorists to use their personal vehicle.
The last episode of nitrogen dioxide pollution in Clermont-Ferrand dates back to December 27, 2006.

It is of diesel origin = nitrogen dioxide + particles ??
This is not a problem of CO2.
Fortunately, I do not live in town, I am 12 kms from Issoire.
