Diaphragms (mechanical iris)

by Lietseu » 10/04/07, 15:18

Greetings noble company
and to you too Christophe-san my namesake

(san is a suffix that designates a Master in japan)

I have a glue that can pipe me, and tell me where I would find the plans of a mechanical diaphragm mechanism, it does not necessarily have to be at 50 strips, but rather at 5 or 6!

It is for an experience that I propose to do :?

Thank you to all :D

Tagazok,

it's not really a plan, but maybe it can help you:

what exactly is this for? give the specs (open diameter, maximum diameter possible once closed ...), and I make you a plan without problems ...

criticism is necessary, but the invention is vital because in any invention there is a criticism of the convention ...

Hello
If it's to replace a throttle valve in an engine, that makes it solid
an engine that swallows a piece of metal and it's the Jack pot.
I tried to tinker with a variable angle turbulator, too complicated a clockwork mechanism that requires tools and too great a risk of vibration in an engine.

I contest ! "San" means something of the order of a simple "Monsieur" or "Madame".

"Master" or "Professor" are translated into Japanese as "Sensei".

You still have to learn to go from "San" to "Senseï", Lietseu :D

It was Rulian "Sensei" "I'm bringing back my science" minute.

Tagazok to you with the very influential character, your science is envied by the elves and even more by the trolls! (and I'm not talking about envious males, or unscrupulous adventurers)
Yes, if you have time, I want the plan, but you may fall from the top, I think of very large formats, style 2m or +, but reassure you it is not (would not come to me 'idea) to put at the entrance of an engine - in your opinion! - (typical Brussels expression which means +/- you take me for an idiot?
You imagine the size of the intake pipe ... : Shock:
(Although for certain boat engine ... the 350m tanker on which my nephew sails for example) ...
This is a very old door project for an interior room, an old dream of decoration, it doesn't fit in the pants, hence the separate subject

I believe, friends André, that for small-sized engines, bushel carburetors like those found on motorcycles (mikuni) would be more appropriate, right? I seem to have seen that in another page of the forum, obviously the idea of building one (of diaphragm) to regulate the input of an engine would be interesting but as you say it, it must be very solid if not, hello the damage! obviously in expert mechanic, you little still put a stainless steel filter behind in case ... the other question was to know what were the exhaust temperatures according to the distance from the exhaust manifold, for the mounting of brass pipes which "channel" the gases, see my proposal to "revisit" the pantone in these foundations, taking into account all the arguments cited in the (remarkable) study that was made on the functioning of our "baby". What is a variable angle turbulator? something that creates turbulence in the intake gases?
I'm going in a week or two, ask a turner to make me a smooth pantone like buttock skin with a rod with an ogival head instead of the conical head illustrated on the plan that circulates, I will tell him about the pantone and I believe his risk of smoking dry in these meninges ....
it has work for 100 years if it can machine rooms for the future pantoneur, respecting the wishes of Paul Pantone to give everyone the possibility of mounting a pantone on the generator and other lawn mowers ...
if small do-it-yourselfers could find kits we would already do a famous job (I write to Paul in the coming days to see if we can do it, I don't want to compete with him, or that someone someone else does) and as long as I don't have the green light, I don't tell the turner about it, I swear!
I keep everyone informed of the future!

@ + and good luck!
